Myrtle "Myrt" Lou Lirette Duplantis, 81, a native of Dularge, LA and resident of Houma, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Spring, TX on October 3, 2023. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 9am to 11am, with the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11am, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who loved family gatherings and spending time with her grand kids. She lived a wonderful life filled with her love of helping others and epitomized selflessness, kindness, strength, and caring. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the countless lives that she's touched. She is survived by her children, Jerome (Michael Devlin) Duplantis of Bellevue, NE; Darryl (Lila) Duplantis of Houma, LA, and Belethia Jordan of Spring, TX; She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Liner and Janet "Jan" Lirette of Dularge, LA; seven grandchildren, Brandie (Nikolas) Gautreaux, Amber (Matthew) Vance, Brittany, Brooke, and Summer Jordan, Nicole (Katie) Bourgeois and Claire Devlin; seven great grandchildren, Nathan and Caleb Gautreaux, Aryanna Jordan, Meliya and Abryelle Caulder, Jason and Liam Vance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvest "S. J. " Duplantis, Jr. ; father, Gilbert Lirette; mother, Adele Lirette; brother, Andy Lirette; and sisters, Mary Ann Bourg and Roberta Duplantis. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bayou City Hospice Care of Spring, TX for their care and compassion was exemplary. Harvey Parks, 82, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on November 30, 2023. Visitation will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm and Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 8am to 10am at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, of 64 years Elizabeth Loupe Parks; sons, Peter Parks and wife Regina, Harvey Parks Jr. and wife Michele, and Daniel Parks; daughters, Cheryl Burnett and companion David Dumont, Patty Clement and husband Sidney; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; and numerous half brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Yancy Guidry; daughter in law, Bridgette Parks; grandchildren, Jacob Clement, Ashley Elizabeth Parks, and Nickolas Parks; granddaughter in law, Vannessa Clement; and biological father, Ernest Parks. He lived a life of service to his community and was dearly loved by family and friends. In 1970, he joined the Bayou Blue Volunteer Fire Department and he became a Lafourche Parish Sheriff Deputy for the Bayou Blue community in 1972. He was Fire Chief of Bayou Blue Volunteer Fire Department from 1984-1999. He served as the Bayou Blue Fire Protection District President, was a member of the Terrebonne and Lafourche Fire Chief's Association and was also a lifetime member of the Bayou Blue Fire Department and the Louisiana State Fireman's Association. He enjoyed fishing but most of all he loved being with all his children, grandchildren and family. it have him great joy to hear their laughter. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his companion, Hazel Lafevre; sons, Carroll Sapia Jr. and wife Mary, Rusty Sapia and wife Tessie; daughters, Cathy White and husband Kenneth, Jackie Sapia, and Mary Sapia; brothers, Michael Sapia, Whitney Sapia, Tommy Sapia and wife Eva, Randall Sapia and companion Christine, Larry Sapia; sisters, Margaret Chatagnier, Linda Lodrigue, Anna Trahan and husband Wallace, Martha Sapia and companion Brett, Darlene Hotard and husband Tony; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sapia; parents, Carroll Sapia Sr. and wife Bessie; daughter, Christine Dempster and husband Barry; son in law, Kerry Dumont; brothers, Ernest Sapia, Richard Sapia and wife Sandy; twin brothers, James and Johnny Sapia; sisters, Peggy Liner and husband Percy; brothers in law, Clarence Chatagnier, Anthony Lodrigue; sisters in law, Barbara Sapia and Charlene Sapia; great granddaughter, Brinleigh Sapia. Carroll touched so many hearts. He was a very hard worker who also loved music. In his spare time, you could find him playing his guitar, singing, and fishing. Tony Trahan, 65, a native of Lafayette, LA and a resident of Bayou Blue, LA, departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2023. A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, 4511 West Park Ave, Gray, LA from 4:00 pm until the Religious Services at 6:30 pm. He is survived by his girlfriend, Heather Dardar; sisters, Pinky Lirette, Kitty Bergeron and, husband Craig; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velma LaVergne and Earl Trahan; siblings, Jimmy Cormier, Debra Levron, Goldy Trahan; and nephew, Jordan Nolfo. Tony lived a full life. He never met a stranger and never forgot a face. He loved and performed Elvis, singing and impersonating him at local fairs, weddings, and anywhere requested. Tony was one of TARC's very first clients. TARC taught Tony many skills that allowed Tony to learn and work at various jobs in the community. Tony once received Employee of the Month award at Brown's Furniture. Tony was highly involved in the Special Olympics, The Bell Choir, and The Bowling League at TARC; and he was even a rider with the Krewe of Houmas parade. He loved Aggie's Skateland and if you were ever at a lock-in or went on a Friday night, you knew "Elvis. " Tony will be missed by so many.
