Mr. Howard L. Allen Jr. was born January 27, 1959, to Howard Lorenzo Allen, Sr., and Lavern Jeter Allen in Richmond, Virginia. Howard received his education through the Richmond Public School System where he was an exceptional talent on the football field and known football standout at George Wythe High School. He played Semi-Professional football with the Richmond Brewers. Howard, also known as “Grandpa & Pop” was an employee with the City of Richmond where he retired after 20 years. “Pop” was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, He also shared his skill of the field with the neighborhood youth, but his talents went beyond that included specializing in floor detailing and was a handy man and a candy man. No one could touch his delicious and beautiful candy apples. Howard was a devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle. The love he had for his family and friends was immeasurable. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his wife Sarah, He adored Sarah. He referred to her as his “Sugar”. Howard loved watching Western movies, and his favorite TV Sitcom Sanford and Son. He enjoyed his snacks but more than snacks he loved his wife’s cooking. Howard was a faithful member for 15 years of Fountain Baptist Church. Howard was preceded in death by his parents Howard Lorenzo Allen, Sr., and Lavern Jeter Allen; one sister, Sheila Jeter; two, brothers Norris L. Jackson and Earl M. Jeter. Howard is survived by his devoted spouse of fourteen years Sarah Massey Allen, four children, Devar Allen, Leah Allen, Anthony J. Bell (Tesa), and Elijah Lee, five sisters, Veronica A. Shelton, Mary Cook (Lawrence), Margaret Allen, Kathy Allen, and Carolyn Allen; one stepdaughter, Shirley Bryant (Baseer); one stepson, Walter Brown III; one sister-n-law, Rose Greene; one brother-n-law, Ray Massey (O’Keisha); five grandchildren, Abram, Kamryn, Kailyn, Aubree and Jasmine; a host of nephews, nieces and friends, especially the loyal, Trevon Shelton, Nelson Colbert and Nathaniel (Nate).

Christina Marie Harrison, 53, of Richmond, VA, passed away peacefully after battling breast cancer on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Bon Secours Hospice House. Christina was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Harrison. Survivors include her daughters, Samantha Welton and Rachel Jinnett; son-in-law, Eric Welton; grandsons, Colton Welton and Sawyer Welton (grandson to be); brother, Michael Yohe Jr. (Jennifer); sister, Rebecca Lavelle; and several nieces and nephews. Christina was a beautiful catholic woman who put all of her love towards her daughters and grandson. She was passionate in making loved ones smile and caring for those in need. She loved music, shopping, cosmetics, and animals. She was a selfless woman who always put others before her, she was loved by many and will always be remembered. Winston William “Winky” Wilberger 52 of Highland Springs VA, passed away Monday, February 12th, 2024, at VCU Medical Center. Born on July 5, 1971, in Richmond VA. Winky was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Winston Thomas “Tommy” Wilberger and Margaret Rea Wilberger; and his beloved wife, Christina Simms Wilberger. He is survived by his son and buddy, Thomas William Wilberger; biological mother Cheryl Trainum Harper; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. Also left to cherish his memory, are his girlfriend, Brigit Donati; and his cousin, Brian Rea, but as Winky would say, “my brotha”. Winky was a longtime employee of Estes Express Lines. He always lived life to the fullest and had a huge heart putting the welfare of others and their feelings before himself. If you needed something, Winky would offer to give it. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson, going to car shows, and attending NASCAR and drag races, but his favorite times were spent hanging out with his son, Thomas. Samuel R. Whitley Sr. "Sam" was called home to rest on February 14, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Whitley and his two children, Samuel Whitley Jr. and Jacqueline Whitley- Renteria. Sam is also survived by his grandchildren (whom he loved to spend time with), his stepchildren, and many other family members who loved him dearly. Sam retired as a state employee after working there for many years. He loved to listen to his oldies but goodies music, dance, sit on the porch, play cards, and go fishing. He will be deeply missed.
