"Myrna Loy Kruse, age 92 years, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She is survived by her son, Roger Wayne Kruse, of Tulsa; her brother, David Lee Hamilton and his wife (Samantha) of Tulsa and many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. Myrna is pre-deceased by husband of 47 years, Roger Eugene Kruse; her parents, Jefferson D. and Virginia A. (Holt) Hamilton; and her sister, Maxine Marie (Hamilton) Chenhall. Myrna Loy Kruse was born July 8, 1931, in Muskogee, OK. She graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1949 and went to work as a clerk for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In September of 1950, Myrna met and fell in love with Roger Eugene Kruse and on January 13, 1951 they were married in Van Buren, Arkansas. Their son, Wayne, was born October 31, 1951. Myrna and Roger moved to Afton, OK where Roger was enrolled at Miami North Eastern University and then to Tulsa, settling into Vets Village Housing on the campus of Tulsa University where Roger was enrolled under the G. I. Bill, studying to become a teacher. After a short leave, at Metropolitan Life Myrna returned to work, and held that job until 1986 when she retired. Myrna's job with Metropolitan was instrumental in Roger earning his Bachelor and Master's Degree's and she later made it possible for Wayne to attend TU and earn his degree in Commercial Design. In 1958, Myrna and Roger bought their first home. There they met their next door neighbors Allie and Pat Majors, who became life-long friends, with whom they shared the ups and downs that life is life - celebrating the successes and comforting the sorrows. Myrna was a devoted Christian. In her youth she attended Boulevard Christian Church in Muskogee. She joined Valley View Christian Church in Tulsa and in 1998 she joined Cedar Ridge Christian Church. She was an active member of the Cedar Ridge. She enjoyed helping in the nursery, greeting at the door, being part of her Prime Timers class, and giving hugs. She loved making pies and many holidays found her kitchen busily making pie crusts, baking and boxing pies right up to the last minute. Myrna joined Beta Sigma Phi sorority in 1950 was an active member for more than 70 years. Myrna served at many levels in her chapter city council. Being of service is a strong part of her sorority and Myrna's final contribution was a 6' x 6' white afghan with the colors of her sorority degrees crocheted into the pattern. It was auctioned off to raise money for the Little Light House. Myrna was tireless and devoted to any project she signed up for and the completion of the afghan was her crowning achievement. Myrna was a devoted Thunder fan and rarely missed a broadcast. With yellow legal pad and pen in hand plus a crochet project in her lap, she kept the stats on the players. Keeping stats on a game was a long time habit as Myrna kept box scores when the family went to see the Cardinals or Cubs. On the evening of August 15, a few days before she moved into Clarehouse, mom and I sat at the patio door sharing a small breeze. I asked how she could be so positive about life and she told me that her life-long faith in God and Jesus Christ had always carried her and was with her now, that without her belief, she would not have made it. Mom had a fierce determination to live but added that when Jesus held out his hand for her, she was ready. Myrna lived a life of love and service and will be missed. Viewing will be from 1PM - 6PM, Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma with visitation with family from 2PM - 4PM. Funeral Service will be 10:30AM, Monday, August 28, 2023 at Cedar Ridge Christian Church, 4010 West New Orleans Street, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. "
