Myrna Loretta (Dickson) Fischer, 80, of Galena, Missouri, joined her husband and son in the presence of the Lord on June 11, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Myrna was born on August 26, 1941 in Stambaugh, Michigan to Lester and Eva Joy (Martin) Dickson. She graduated from Harlem High School, Loves Park, Illinois, in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart, Myron Fischer on June 10, 1959. After high school, Myrna attended Elkhart University and graduated as a dental nurse. While serving as secretary of Fischer Concrete Construction Company, she was a dedicated wife and homemaker until retirement to the Ozarks in 1982. As a devout Christian she served in various roles within the church and led many to the Lord. Her passions were working extensively on family genealogy as well as being a member of the Stone County Historical Society, DAR, DUV, Red Hat Society, and the Granny Nannies. Myrna was also a master knitter and crocheter making afghans/prayer shawls/baby blankets for anyone in need. She loved attending Branson Music Shows and to travel-going on many cruises. Myrna was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Mike Fischer, her parents, Lester and Eva Joy Dickson, her son Dirk Patrick Fischer, and her brothers, Dwayne and Robert (Bob) Dickson. She leaves behind her children Michelle (Richard) Porter, Scott (Claire) Fischer, and Amanda Fischer (Jodi). Myrna is also survived by her grandchildren: Summer Joy (Patrick) Weber, Nicholas (Geneva) Porter, Jacob (Jake) (Kathleen) Porter, Paige (Tate) Bailey, Westin Fischer, Ciara (Matt) James, Carris Fischer, Warren Fischer, as well as great grandchildren: Jack Porter, Carly Porter, Eva Joy Weber, Elaina James, and Leo Porter. Myrna's selfless acts of service and kindness impacted many people's lives. She will truly be missed by all. Final resting place on earth will be at Pinnacle Hill Cemetery beside her husband, Mike, and son Dirk. Graveside memorial will be held July 22, 2022 at 5 pm at Pinnacle Hill Cemetery, 14528 Pleasant Valley Road, South Beloit, Illinois 61073.
