Louise Atkinson Mccullough was born in Thomasville County, Georgia on June 29, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Eugene Atkinson. Louise was the third oldest of seven girls. As a young girl she enjoyed singing and spent her days supporting her family, who were sharecroppers on Ballard Farm. As a teenager she and her sister, Catherine, traveled to Florida for work. There she met the love of her life, Warren McCullough. She was married at the young age of 17 and would have her first child 1 year later. She would pursue her GED at age 28, teaching herself to read and write to better navigate her environment and enhance her children's education. She received her GED at the age of 30. Mother McCullough was known in the community for her bubbly personality, skills as a Seamstress, contributions as a Foster Parent and her southern home cooking, especially her Perlo Rice and biscuits from scratch. Her hospitality was second to none. Never meeting a stranger, she believed in feeding and sharing stories with anyone who she encountered. Mother McCullough would often take intermittent positions to support her family when farming seasons slowed down. These positions included Monroe Hospital (Housekeeper), Several nursing homes, Lady Bay Yard (Seamstress Factory) and Florida Frier (Factory). Not only was she a dedicated employee, but she won many to Christ while on the job. Mother McCullough served in multiple positions in ministry, spanning from usher to First Lady during her husband's tenure as Senior Pastor at The Church of God in Gainesville, Umatilla and Citra, FL. During Mother Louise's latter years she was a member at Reddick Church of God where she served as a church mother. She developed a special passion for mentoring young women and promoted the success of marriage and the values of a virtuous woman. Preceding her in death is her beloved husband Elder Warren McCullough Sr. , a son Elder Warren Mccullough Junior, six sisters, Catherine Baker, Julia Mae Gadsen, Rosetta Darby, Josephine Rosco, Elleree Spearman, and Sarah Jane Ketchup. She leaves to cherish her precious memories eight children: Annette Rawls (Sylvester), Ocala, FL, Patricia Guillory (Merlin), Columbia, SC, Mary Cannady (Alvin), Joan Walls (Daymon), Sonja Blunt all of Ocala, FL; Calvin (Redonna), Michael, both of Ocala, FL, Mack (Freida) Warner Robins, GA, Alexander Lake Panasoffkee, FL, Aunya, Carmella both of Ocala, FL; thirty-five grandchildren, sixty-eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love and adore Mother Mccullough dearly.
