Monte Dean Gwinn, 69, of Beckley, WV passed away at home on Wednesday, April 24. He was born on September 22, 1949 in Charleston, WV. After high school Monte attended WVU and West Virginia Tech. He was married to his wife of 48 years, Nancy, with whom he raised their son Dusty and their daughter Heather. He worked for the Beckley Post Office for 34 years and was happy to retire in 2009. He loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and a master at ginseng hunting. He loved sports and was a die hard fan of the Meadow Bridge Wildcats and the West Virginia University Mountaineers. His favorite thing was spending time with his granddaughter, Landrey. He adored her and loved creating all kinds of fun for her in the sun and in the snow. Monte was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Gwinn. He is survived by his brother Gary (Carol) Gwinn; his sisters Norris (Cecil) Hall and Debbie (Gary) Neely; his Mother-In-Law, Lucille Walker; his Brother-In-Law Keith Walker plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
