Moffett Scism Obituary

DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Moffett Albert Scism Moffett Albert Scism, 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 10, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Raymond and Mary Hovis Scism and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Nolan, Bruce, and Paul Scism. Moffett was a longtime member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and served his country honorably in the US Army. He worked for Eastern Airlines as a baggage handler. Moffett enjoyed farming and was an avid fisherman. He especially loved fishing trip to the coast. Always active, Moffett was a member of the Fairview Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and a member of White Plains Shine Club for over 30 years. He served as a volunteer firefighter with Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years. Moffett was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose guidance, wisdom, and love will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him.
