Milton Shambo, 91, of Victoria, passed away October 6, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with AML. Milton was born January 14, 1932 in Daphne, AL to the late Claudia Josephine Stanton and Henry Christopher Shambo. Milton enlisted in the United States Air Force right after high school and served in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1956 as Staff Sergeant. Milton married his high school sweetheart, Daisy Mae Blair. Milton worked for the Corpus Christi Army Depot and retired after 37 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Milton enjoyed going to the coffee shop twice a day and drinking coffee with his buddy, Frank. Customers would stop to talk to him, and the clerks were always so kind to him at his favorite shop. Milton is survived by his daughter, Brenda Hamm; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Daisy Shambo; daughter, Linda Gray; son, Milton "Wayne" Shambo; brother, John Joseph Shambo; twin brother, Wilton Shambo and grandson, Marshall Shambo. Visitation will be Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 1-2 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2 pm. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will be held at Memory Garden Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Hamm, David Gray, Chris Gray, Austin Martin, Avery Martin, Kim Martin and Tammy Arndt. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas or Adopt-A-Pet Victoria.
