Milton Shambo, 91, of Victoria, passed away October 6, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with AML. Milton was born January 14, 1932 in Daphne, AL to the late Claudia Josephine Stanton and Henry Christopher Shambo. Milton enlisted in the United States Air Force right after high school and served in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1956 as Staff Sergeant. Milton married his high school sweetheart, Daisy Mae Blair. Milton worked for the Corpus Christi Army Depot and retired after 37 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Milton enjoyed going to the coffee shop twice a day and drinking coffee with his buddy, Frank. Customers would stop to talk to him, and the clerks were always so kind to him at his favorite shop. Milton is survived by his daughter, Brenda Hamm; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Daisy Shambo; daughter, Linda Gray; son, Milton "Wayne" Shambo; brother, John Joseph Shambo; twin brother, Wilton Shambo and grandson, Marshall Shambo. Visitation will be Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 1-2 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2 pm. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will be held at Memory Garden Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Hamm, David Gray, Chris Gray, Austin Martin, Avery Martin, Kim Martin and Tammy Arndt. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas or Adopt-A-Pet Victoria. Bobbie Daniel, 73, passed away November 28, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. Bobbie was born July 8, 1950, in San Angelo, TX to the late Margie Cates and TJ Williams. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Daniel; daughter, Melissa Wood (Sheldon) of Johnson City; son, Raymond Clifton (Dee) of Dallas; step-daughter, Emily Ann Daniel of Austin; sisters, Sheri Masters Delaney (Tim) of Trinity, FL. Tracy Cassidy (Archie) of League City; brother, Tommy Williams (Teresa) of San Angelo and her grandchildren, Brooke Bland (Jason), Kiley Pulliam (Jared), Whitney Wood, Garrison Wood (Austin), Jacob, Joshua, Jesse, Abigail, Grace, Brandon and Mattie Clifton. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Katie Clifton, and brother, Jimmy Williams. Bobbie retired from the Sheriff's office after 23 years of service. She was a mentor and friend to all she came in contact with. The Sheriff's office was a loving second family and where she met her soulmate, Tony Daniel. Their love story lasted 28 years (25 married) during which time they enjoyed traveling to state and national parks, hunting, and spending as much time as they could with their grandchildren. Bobbie's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and was known affectionately as "Grandma Bobbie. " Bobbie was also a dog mom to her two boys, Ranger and Ruger. Her two children joked that they were "the favorites. " Bobbie has left a legacy of love and caring. Her family is beyond grateful for all the time they had with her and she will forever be an inspiration of grace, beauty, and strength. Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 4-6 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 4, 2023, at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to immediately follow at Memory Garden Cemetery. James Ray Ottinger passed away in Victoria, Texas, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born in Pecos, Texas of October 24, 1930 to Leonard Ray Ottinger and Goldie Pearl Glaspy. James served in the Army during the Korean War. At 93, he still wore his Korean War veteran cap proudly. After serving in the Army, he became a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Civil Service division at Kelly AFB until his retirement. His passions in life were his family, restoring old cars and fishing. After retirement, he moved to a small cabin on Lake Medina which he absolutely loved and began spending more time traveling (never letting the grass grow under his feet). James is survived by his children, James Ottinger (Terri), Cherryl Meggs, Rusel Ottinger and Carlene Lemke (Milam); 14 grandchildren, Wesley Ottinger, Sarah Ottinger, John Ottinger, Misty Meggs, Christal Meggs, Courtney Ottinger, Jon Ottinger, Cassandra Rios, Brandon Ottinger, Dustin Rathke (Angie), Kyron Lemke, Madison Lemke, Tyler Lemke and Symphony Lemke; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Ottinger, Carson Ottinger, Lincoln Ottinger, Faith Meggs, Tristan Meggs, Ava Alderman, Brad Anzo, Lily Ottinger, Lewis Ottinger, Devlin Rios, Raulie Rios and Laney Rios, and siblings James Gurno, Harry Gurno, Mary Ann Gurno and Linda Meuth. Patricia (Pat) Yeschke passed away on November 28, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family and close friends. Pat Yeschke was born on October 28, 1947 in Yoakum, Texas. Pat lived in Gonzales, Texas and worked for the City of Gonzales as dispatcher for many years. She was a loving and caring wife, mom, and grandmother. She also bragged on all her grandchildren. Anyone that knew Pat knew she loved all her dogs and always had the most unique names for them all. She would let you know what she thought even if you didn't agree with it and never bought one of anything. Robert "Bobby" Thomas Trevino (65), loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on November 27, 2023. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Victoria, Texas, born on September 22, 1958, to the late Beatrice Bazan and Federico Trevino. Bobby was a proud member of the Victoria community who served in many organizations throughout his life. He was a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Knights of Columbus, the Christian Youth Organization, the Breakfast Club, and president of the local and state Texas Restaurant Association. Additionally, Bobby was a freelance photographer and was a partner with the Revisita De Victoria Newspaper. Bobby proudly served as a trustee on the VISD Board of Trustees for over 12 years. Bobby positively impacted our community, and he will be truly missed. Bobby embarked a career that showcased his strong work ethic and dedication. Bobby proudly ran his family's restaurant, Siesta Mexican Restaurant, from the age of 21 to 48, and owned Maggie's Meat Market for two years. Bobby greatly enjoyed seeing all his customers and serving his family's recipes. Bobby is survived by his wife, Maria Trevino; children, Roberto "Kiko" Trevino (Sarah), Donna Santillan (Mykeal), Monica Trevino (Adam), and Jose Trevino (Mariana); Siblings, Gloria Cano (Julius), Francis Franklin (Rodney), Esther Trevino, and John Trevino; and grandchildren, Amelie Adame, Anthony Adame, Sean Carbajal and Sophia Vargas. Richard Dophan Starnes, 81, of Victoria, TX passed away November 27, 2023. He was born on October 8, 1942 in Shreveport, LA to the late Weaver Dophan Starnes and Mary Janette Ellis Starnes. In his younger years, he was always up for an adventure. He was an avid cook and sportsman, spending his time hunting and fishing with his lifelong friends and participating in numerous cook-offs with his late wife. Retired in 2006, he loved to speak of his many travels around the world during his career with Brown & Root, including trips to Dubai, Africa, Egypt, Afghanistan, and the Virgin Islands to name a few. He was a man of faith, devoted father, and loved spending time with family - especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Joan Treybig Starnes; brother-in-law: Brian E. Simons; and nephew: Bryan Gregory Simons. He is survived by daughters Leslie Starnes of Victoria, and Kelle (Stephen) Hill of Dallas; sister Glenda Gottlich; grandchildren Megan Simmons, McKenzi Simmons and Morgan Simmons; great grandchildren Jordyn Simmons, Alice Esparza, Olivia and Greyson Pena; nephew: Gary Simons; and nieces Lanette Paul and Laura Hudson. Thomas (Tommy) Aguilar Villarreal, Jr. , affectionately known as "Popo" lived a beautiful life. Tommy was born July 12, 1951, in Victoria TX, to loving parents, Tom A. Sr. & Janie G. Villarreal. He was raised with his siblings on Cedar St. Victoria was his home, he loved it, and took great pride in it. He was a devout Catholic, who attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and graduated from Victoria High School (Class of 1969). He was a hard-working man, dedicated to his family, everything he did was for them. He was talented, knowledgeable, and mechanically inclined to say the least. He worked in an automotive shop, at Union Carbide and later for the City of Victoria, where he received several awards and commendations for his hard work and dedication; He retired from the city after 25 years. He was a magnetic force, people gravitated towards him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, and hilarious. If you were around Tommy, you were guaranteed to laugh because he had a great story for you. Tommy loved working on vehicles, riding motorcycles, old western movies, Landscaping, having a cold beer on a warm day, listening to blues and rock and roll like Santana and making people laugh. He was the kind of person who would not only give you want you needed but worked even harder to give you what you wanted. His only reward was seeing the smile on your face when he accomplished this and that was all he needed to be happy. Tommy is preceded in death by his loving parents, Tom A. Sr. & Janie G Villarreal and his sister Marie V. Amador. He is survived by his son: Thomas A. Villarreal, III, daughter-in-law: Maria Villarreal, grandchildren: Thomas A. Villarreal IV, Nadya Gonzales, Aizen L. Villarreal, and Isabel M. Villarreal, his siblings: Lulu Gonzales, Patsy Saldivar, and Jean Robles. He is also survived by countless cousins, and all his loving nieces and nephews who would often fight over who was "Uncle Tommy's Favorite" because they all wanted to be, and they all were, for different reasons. Dad, we will miss you immensely. You were our "go-to" when life got rough, you were our sanity in this crazy world, and our comfort when we needed clarity. You were always someone we could count on, and although you liked to joke around, you always got your point across without judgement, and always provided us with sound advice. You always made sure we made our decisions after thinking things through. You always gave it 110% and never stopped fighting for what's right. Because of you, we have the hearts of a lion, the love of our family, and an insane work ethic. We thank you dad for all the calls, wise words of advice, the love you gave us and the beautiful lives we've lived because of you, your hard work, and your boundless love for us. Roberta Lyles Turner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She passed on November 21, 2023 after a lengthy battle with her health. Roberta was born to George and Ann Lyles of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 1, 1958. Roberta graduated as valedictorian of University High School and went to Harding University to pursue a degree in nutrition. While at Harding, Roberta met and married the love of her life, Steve Turner. She moved to Lubbock, Texas and finished her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. She later earned a master's degree from Wayland Baptist University in the field of education. Together they have 2 children, Melissa and Aaron. Roberta would spend the majority of her career teaching various grade levels where she would be known for her love of math. Roberta and Steve retired in Victoria, Texas, and she spent the last of her days taking care of her five grandchildren. Roberta will be best remembered by her unwavering faith in her Savior, her unconditional love for her family, her incredible spirit of toughness and her unmatched cooking and sewing skills. Roberta is preceded in death by George and Ann Lyles.
