Mildred J. Thomas Alexander Brasher was born October 29, 1928 in Hardin County, TN the daughter of the late Millard and Nettie Nix Thomas. She departed this life on September 8, 2023 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 10 Months, 10 Days. Mildred's strong faith led her to become a cherished member of the House of Mercy Church in Morris Chapel, TN. This remarkable woman had a passion for cooking, canning and gardening. She cherished the moments she could spend with friends and family. She is survived by her children: Sandra Cooksey and Barbara Shelby; sister, Peggy Thomas; grandchildren: Tina Cooksey, Stephanie (Bobby) McCullough, Deanne (Brian) Brown, Stacy Donaldson, Jessica Shelby, Jonathan (Heather) Cooksey, Zach Shelby; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brasher was preceded in death by husbands, Farris Alexander, Ennis Brasher; daughter, Kathy Donaldson; son-in-laws, Terry Donaldson, Dean Shelby, Larry Cooksey; grandchildren: Christopher Alexander, Larry Cooksey Jr. , Tracy Cooksey, Melody Shelby.

Thomas "Tommy" Gerald Grisham, 78, of Adamsville, Tennessee, died on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in his home. Tommy was of the Christian faith, was a member of Meeks Grove Baptist Church, and loved attending services whenever he was able. For over thirty years, he was a driver for D. L. Cutshall and Sons and loved every minute of it. Tommy was a very talented craftsman, and he could create new things from practically nothing. His specialty was crafting walking sticks, and in his lifetime, he had created over a hundred personalized walking sticks for his family and friends. What he enjoyed doing most of all, however, was spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Tommy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Grisham; his children, Stacy Mills (Clayton), LaDana Crowell (Edmund), Charlie Jones (Karen), Chris Jones, and Sarah Jones; his sisters, Gloria Brewer, Sylvia McMahan, Debra McDonald (Robert), and Cindy Hendrix (Gary); his grandchildren, Ella Mills, Candice Jones, Kassidy Irwin (Will), and Blake Jones; his great-grandchildren, Josie Marie Jones and Ellie Jo Irwin; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruth Grisham; his brother, Charles Grisham; and his sister, Wanda Puckett. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p. m. until 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Gerald (Bull) Gray, born on July 2, 1946, in McNairy County, TN, was a beloved son of the late William (Jack) Curtis and Thankful Elizabeth Treece Gray. He passed away on October 13, 2023, in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 3 Months, 11 Days. Gerald married the love of his life, Erline McDaniel, on September 25, 1970. He bravely served our country during the Vietnam War and always carried his faith with him. Gerald's commitment to living for Christ was evident throughout his daily life. He found solace and community as a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Known for his charisma and loving personality, Gerald had a remarkable ability to draw friends into deep and meaningful conversations that lasted for hours. Toddlers felt at ease in his presence and often found comfort cuddling up in his lap for naps. A warm smile was a constant feature on his face, and he possessed an exceptional talent for seeing the best in everyone. Gerald had a passion for outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, boating, and watching NASCAR. These pursuits allowed him to connect with nature while creating cherished memories with loved ones. In business dealings and personal relationships alike, Gerald earned respect through exemplifying virtues such as honesty, fairness, kindness, and humility. Alongside his brother Dale, he successfully owned and operated Gray Bros from 1992 until his retirement in 2006. Left to cherish precious memories are Gerald's devoted wife of 53 years, Erline Gray of Adamsville, TN; their children: daughter, Brande Sisk and her husband Shawn of Adamsville, TN; son, Dj Gray and his wife Misti of Adamsville, TN; four grandchildren who were the apple of his eyes: John Tyler Sisk, Shelbe Sisk, Haven Gray, and Gia Gray; two sisters: Betty Ashe and her husband Danny of Selmer, TN; Doris Leonard and her husband R. B. of Selmer, TN; three brothers: Larry (Goose) Gray and his wife Gayle of Selmer, TN; Dale (Trigger) Gray and his wife Nancy of Adamsville, TN; Roy Neal (Spud) Gray and his wife Cathy of Adamsville, TN; as well as a host of extended family members and friends. She grew up surrounded by warmth and love, and these values shaped the compassionate person she became. A collector of collections, Shirley had a knack for finding beauty in the simplest things. She cherished every object that crossed her path and delighted in sharing her treasures with others. But it wasn't just material possessions that she gave so freely; Shirley also showered others with her infectious laughter and kind-heartedness. In her free time, Shirley found solace in the company of friends over a game of dominoes. enthusiasm for this simple pleasure was contagious, as she brought people together through the sheer joy and camaraderie of playing together. Shirley had a green thumb like no other. Her garden flourished under her loving care, offering vibrant blooms that mirrored the beauty within her heart. On September 19, 2023, she was baptized as a testament to her unwavering commitment to her beliefs. Shirley's memory will be cherished by her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted son, Kevin Bruce of Westville, FL,; her beloved daughter, Robin Kelley and husband Kris of Jackson, TN. Her legacy continues through her 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, who will always carry a piece of her vibrant spirit with them. He was born on March 22, 1950, in Memphis, TN to his late parents Herbert C. and Bibian Lee Chiles Simmons. Creath served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he embarked on a career in law enforcement and spent many years working as a police officer in Atlanta, GA and Memphis, TN. In 1987, Creath married Lona Beutow, and they shared a loving union until his passing. In 1990, he transitioned into his second career as an electrician with IBEW Local 474 based in Memphis. Additionally, Creath also devoted his time to serving as a part-time employee of the Hardin County Ambulance Service. Throughout his life, Creath took great pleasure in caring for his land and property and cherished moments spent on his boat. However, it was his deep-rooted desire to help others that truly defined him. From his professional commitments to the countless hours he volunteered aiding those in need, Creath's selfless nature brought him immense joy. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lona Simmons of Adamsville, TN; children, Creath Lee Simmons Jr. and wife Brenda, Karen Lazig and husband Jeff, Cassandra Teal, Rosa Lee Lively and husband Paul, Jacob Otto, Jesse Lee Otto, Jared Charles Otto and Katie Elizabeth Otto; brother, Darral Simmons and wife Judy; as well as fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a very generous person and was always giving to others. He was a collector of many things and he loved his church.
