Jenny Heinz-Butteris, 53, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on November 26, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Jenny was born on June 16, 1970 to Glen and Alice Heinz (nee Krumwiede) in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Jamey's sister, Cindy, first introduced Jenny and Jamey on a blind date - but they didn't really like each other at first. It took 6 years apart to realize that they really had something special. They married on Valentine's day 1994 and together led an adventurous life, making stops in Texas, California, Illinois, and North Carolina before settling in Greenville, South Carolina, to raise a family. Later they would move to New York and ultimately to Pensacola Florida to be near family. Travel overseas to The Philippines, New Zealand, Niue, and Tonga would create lasting memories and friends from all cultures. They have two children, Chance (born 1996) and Annika (born 2003). Jenny is preceded by her father Glen, who passed away in 2016. She is survived by her husband Jamey; children, Chance and Annika; siblings, Glen and Rachel; and many loyal friends and extended family members. Friends and family alike will remember Jenny for her vibrant personality and infectious laugh. Besides being a homemaker, she was passionate about photography, gardening, sea turtles, hummingbirds, and butterflies. She was an excellent mother and loved children of all ages. In September of 2021 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and after a lengthy and grueling treatment was declared cancer free in February 2023. The celebration was short lived, however, as she was diagnosed with treatment induced leukemia in September of 2023. She fought to the end but eventually succumbed, with her husband Jamey by her side. Funeral Services will take place at 12PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service. A burial at Lakeview Cemetery will immediately follow services. A Celebration of Life gathering will be at The Heron's Landing in Jefferson immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Hospitality Apartments in Houston, TX. [ hospitalityapartments. org ] Her source of friendship, kinship, comfort and security while being treated for cancer in Houston. A gofund. me site has been set for more personal donations. ( ). Jenny's enduring wish was that her friends and family be screened for cancer regularly, especially breast cancer.Show more
