Mary Jo Curtis, age 80 of Boscobel, passed away on Monday November 20, 2023 at Boscobel Care and Rehab in Boscobel, surrounded by her family. She was born January 22, 1943 in Boscobel. The daughter of Hiram and Izora (Fosnow) Arms. She married Allen Curtis on November 11, 1967 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2020.
Mary Jo and Allen, lived on the Mt. Zion, Curtis farm till 1996, then relocated to Boscobel
so that they could be closer to their three grandsons where she enjoyed attending their countless local
sporting events and concerts. She was one of their most constant fans.
Mary Jo kept busy with various forms of crafting and was fantastic at it. She loved painting, sewing,
quilting, and crocheting; in fact, many families and friends probably have one of her handmade quilts, doilies, or doll clothes in their possession right now.
Along with crafting, she enjoyed crosswords, everything cats, playing cards, watching westerns, and
visiting with friends at the local diners; but her most enjoyable activity was bowling on Boscobel
Women's League with her favorite group of gals. She was so delighted with the numerous bowling
awards and trophies that she earned throughout the years and proudly displayed them throughout her
home.
One of Mary Jo's most deeming qualities was her feisty character. If you knew Mary Jo, you knew she
was always up for a good argument and if she had an opinion, you would know it by the end of the
conversation. However, despite her colorful personality, she had a well-meaning heart and was quite
unforgettable. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, David Robinson of Wisconsin, Steven Robinson of Oregon State, Daniel Robinson of Wisconsin, and John (Lena) Robinson of Boscobel. Three grandsons, John Robinson of Milwaukee, Brian Robinson of Milwaukee, and Nolan Robinson of Boscobel and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Robinson of Milwaukee. Along with one sister, Susan Olson of Fennimore and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Barb O'Kane and Cathy McClimans; and two brothers, Jimmy Arms and Charles Arms.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A private burial will take place at the Union Hill Cemetery, Mt. Zion. Online Condolences can be sent to www. kendallfuneralservice. comShow more
