Michelle C. Tusi, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and beloved late wife of Bell, died September 6, 2023. She was 58 years old. Michelle's journey began on September 8, 1964, in Detroit, MI, and her vibrant spirit touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. Michelle spent her formative years in Berkley and Harrison Township, MI, where she forged lasting connections within her community. She was a proud graduate of L'Anse Creuse High School- North, Class of 1982, and went on to pursue her passions at Marygrove College, studying journalism and music. The call of the islands beckoned Michelle, leading her to Hawaii, where she fell in love not only with the natural beauty that surrounded her - the people, the beaches, and the crystalline waters - but also with her dear late husband, Bell. Together, they shared a love that uplifted each other and those around them. In recent years, Michelle found her purpose in helping and mentoring those in need. She became an integral part of the Alano Center, providing support and guidance to those on their own journeys. Alongside her dear friend Gino Thomas, she co-founded the White Flag Club in Clinton Township, an endeavor close to her heart. It is Michelle's wish that her legacy lives on through the White Flag Club, continuing to extend a helping hand to those who require it most. Michelle's devotion to family was unparalleled. She leaves behind her dear mother, Lorraine Cipriano and Step-father, Isidore Cipriano and brother Peter Cipriano (Minami) and their children, Miu Sophia and Leo Paolo, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Michelle's circle of love extended far and wide, embracing her aunts and uncles: Michael Iacovacci (Debbie), George Iacovacci (Bernice), Carol Novara (Gary), Anthony Iacovacci, David Powell, Patricia Voisin (late David), and the late John Iacovacci (Monika), the late Judy Fenton (Dick), and the late Chester Iacovacci (Cindi). She will also be missed by her cherished cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 1-8pm, with a funeral service at 7pm, at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd (between Maple & Big Beaver), Troy (248-362-2500). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to be used as the family wishes. Michelle's light will forever shine in our hearts, and her legacy of compassion and selfless giving will be a beacon of hope for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.

Richard R. Reff (Dick), 95, of Troy, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023. Dick was born on July 18, 1928 to Peter and Eleanor Reff in Bay City. Dick married Martha Miller on June 8, 1938 at seventeen and they were married for seventy-seven beautiful years. They had two children Richard A. and Barbara. Dick became a master plumber and owned and operated Thornton and Grooms Inc. in Birmingham for most of his professional career. He was known for his sense of humor, he loved to laugh and make others laugh. Dick also enjoyed many hobbies. He was a skilled woodworker, loved to travel and was an avid hunter. He looked forward to gathering with numerous family members every hunting season to swap tales and enjoy the camaraderie at the campfire. He was very handy and always happy to help a neighbor or friend in need. Above all else, family brought him the most joy. Dick was always at the heart of family gatherings, and stationed with pride at the head of the dinner table. Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha, his brother George (Angeline) and sister Irma Lawler and his brother-in-law Mickey Miller. He is survived by his brother Carl (Donna)and his sister-in-law Genevieve Quick; his children Richard A. Reff (Christine) and Barbara Talsma (Terry); his five grandchildren Chelsea Richardson (Benton), Carrie Callahan (Michael), Eric Reff, Rebecca Talsma (Jason Irwin), and Bethany Griffith (Ryan); his five great-grandchildren Ryan, Collin, Kate, Jack and Parker; and several nieces and nephews. William D. Schisa, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 77. Born in Syracuse, New York, he attended Syracuse University and met his beloved wife Judith. After moving to Michigan, he enjoyed a long career at Ford, where he was a systems manager at Ford Credit. William was married for 56 years to Judith and raised two daughters Jennifer (Cordell DeMattei) and Dru (d. 2009). He was a proud grandfather of his three grandsons Nicholas DeMattei, Alexander DeMattei, and Elijah Hagge. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a good friend to all. Shirley was also preceded in death by her siblings Horace, Lucille, Louise, Ruth, Mary, and Buddy. She is survived by her sister, Robbie. A blind date marked the beginning of a beautiful journey that lasted for 49 wonderful years of marriage to her late husband, Walter Smith, whom she will now be reunited with in eternity. Shirley was a devoted and caring mother to seven children: Brian Smith (the late Jane), Kimberley Finney (Sherrie), Debi Johnson (the late Daryl), Becky Thompson (Dick), the late Beth Smith, Mark Smith (Sarah), and Tara Stephenson. Her legacy lives on through her sixteen grandchildren: Kristin (James), Kelley (Vinny), Maxx, Aaron, Cari (Adam), Taylor (Jared), Andrew, Lizzy, the late Nicholas, Brittney, Brian, Luke, Marley, the late Michael, Eric, and Samantha. Shirley was also a cherished great-grandmother to eight precious great grandchildren: Vinny, Kiley, Ashlynn, Darcy, Layla, Brayden, Mia, and Liam. Shirley's vibrant spirit was most evident during the holidays, as she loved every celebration, especially Christmas. A devoted homemaker and hostess, she delighted in decorating, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family on these cherished occasions. Shirley created countless lasting memories through her love for family, travel, and camping. Together, they explored the hidden gems and deepest nooks of the Upper Peninsula, stopping all along their journey to admire natural landmarks. For decades, Shirley worked in the Catalog Department at JC Penney, helping to cultivate and develop printed depictions of the seasons' trends. She was also a talented seamstress, sewing countless garments for her dear children. Her creativity and love extended into every aspect of her life. Visitation to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 3:00-8:00 pm at AJ Desmond and Sons Funeral Home, located at 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI 48084. The Funeral Service will commence at 7:00 pm. Shirley will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery beside her beloved Walter. John passed away after 75 years of living a "blessed" life. He is to be reunited with the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Elaine. He is survived by his three children--John (Nikki), Ericka (Jeff), and Beth (Jerome)-- and his 11 grandchildren-- Maddi, Jeffrey, Kinna, Kaitlyn, Colin, Brett, Johnny, Anaiyah, Lyris, Liv, and Corin. Born in Arkansas to Robert E. and Lorraine Leigh, he was a brother to Robert, Larry, and Connie Leigh. This is where he first showcased his hard work and drive as a paper boy and cotton picker. He served in the Pentagon in the Vietnam War, where he learned more about computers-- his civilian-acquired skill. John's dreams took him to several homes before finding his last job in Michigan. In 1992, John co-founded a software developing company known as Kunz, Leigh, and Associates, where his employees affectionally called him "The Godfather. " He diligently developed the company as it grew from a handful of employees to over 145. He retired in April of 2023. As an avid basketball fan, he held season tickets to Oakland University's basketball game for several decades. One could commonly see an accumulation of his children and his grandchildren at the games with him cheering on the Golden Grizzlies. He became a devoted supporter of the athletic department for many years. With his love of sports, he would try to attend all of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, whether being a wannabe running coach for his children's cross country meets, basketball games with his grandsons, or soccer games with his granddaughters. As "Dad," "Papa," boss, and friend, he always tried to encourage his loved ones to chase their dreams as he had. After being raised Baptist, John converted to Catholicism where he faithfully followed God. He would thank God for all the opportunities he received, often by sheer chance and luck, because, as he said, "when God gives you an opportunity, you just got to take it. Sharon Louise Craig, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 76. Born on December 10, 1946, in Highland Park, Michigan, she was the daughter of John and Dorothy Walker. She is now reunited with her beloved parents in eternal rest. Sharon was the sister to Gordon Walker (Nancy) and Richard Walker. Sharon's journey in education began at Michigan State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. This laid the foundation for her fulfilling career at Fox Hills Preschool, where she served as a caring teacher and librarian. Her love for literature was boundless, and she was a voracious reader. Sharon amassed a vast collection of books, and she found joy in sharing her passion with her students, colleagues, and, most importantly, her grandchildren. It was at Michigan State University that Sharon met the love of her life, Jerry Craig. Their union blossomed into a 54-year-long marriage filled with devotion and love. They were inseparable travel companions and cherished season ticketholders at Michigan State for many decades, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together. A dedicated mother, Sharon leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Megan Craig, James Craig (Brandie), Courtney Kozemchick (Kyle), and Erin Schneider (Tom). She was a doting grandmother to Madisen, Kaela, Logan, Connor, Dylan, and Molly, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Sharon was an incredibly supportive fixture in her children's lives, never missing a sporting event or activity in which they participated. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was endlessly devoted to their well-being. Sharon was a woman of many talents and interests. She found solace in her love for gardening and crafting, creating beautiful spaces and handmade treasures that reflected her creativity and care. A known dog-lover, the home was never devoid of her cherished black labradors. As a parishioner at Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church since 1978, Sharon and Jerry were pillars of strength in the faith community. Their involvement in the parish was profound, and they instilled the values of faith and community in their children, creating a lasting bond with the church that spanned generations. A memorial service in honor of Sharon's life will be held at Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church (1340 W Long Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302) at a later date. He joined the Masonic affiliations with many branch's serving as Commander of the Knights Templar. In which was his personal greatest achievement. Kenneth F Klimek was born on May 26, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Anna Maciarz Klimek . He graduated from Catholic Central of Detroit 1962 and joined the US Navy. After being honorably discharged met and married Andrea Hodges Klimek, and have been together for 57 years. They had two daughters Kristin F Klimek and Jennifer A (Lance) Atkinson. He has four grandchildren, Jessica, Graeme, Korey, and Landon. Three great grandchildren, Emma, Jayden, and Wren. He was loved and a had a good life.Show more

Wallie Brown dedicated her life to raising her family and contributing to her church community. If you received a bulletin on a Sunday morning at our Shepherd Lutheran Church from the 80's through 00's, chances are she printed and folded it. She was heavily involved in the Martin Luther Lutheran Grade School and took the lead on things like Wednesday hot lunch, field trips, and extra-curricular activities. If you attended that school, chances are she corrected your spelling book. After her sons finished college and emptied the nest, she went back to her career and worked as an office administrator for several firms. She embraced her role of Gramma as she retired. Both of her granddaughters have good memories of their Gramma and will always remember her fondly. Both have learned an appreciation for Pierogi and German cooking from her example. As we communicated her passing, her nieces and nephews responded with several fond stories. She was known as the "Fun Aunt" and played catch and games with them. A complete surprise to her sons, she was known for having good taste in music and played Beatles and Elvis songs with the younger generation. As she spent her final years in Fox Run Assisted Living in Novi, she loved to get updates on her granddaughter's activities like Olivia's soccer matches and Jacqueline's Dance Company. She was very proud of her grandchildren and bragged about them at every opportunity. She also watched pretty much every Tiger Baseball game on TV and was always a wealth of knowledge on how Detroit sports teams. One visit or call to mom and you would be up to date. As she joins her Husband Marvin in Heaven, we reflect on how much she put into others and never once needed any spotlight or recognition for her work. She was happy standing in the background watching the people she supported shine in their lives. She is an example of someone who took nothing for granted and made the most of the lot God had given her.
