MICHAEL ALAN WISEFeb. 3,1963 - June 20, 2022, Lexington, Ky. Michael "Mike" Wise was born in Grove City, PA. to the late William Wise and Sally Gills Wise. He died in Lexington, KY on June 20, 2022, following a lengthy illness. Mike is survived by his wife Kathryn "Kathy" Bruner Wise, Lexington, KY, sons Roy Wise and Jeb Wise, Lexington, KY, two brothers Rick Wise, Mercer, PA and Tim Wise, Grove City, PA. , a sister Marsha Wise Barker, Grove City, PA. and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy Wise of Number Five, PA. and Pat Wise of Versailles, KY. Mike graduated from Grove City High School, Grove City, PA. , in 1981. He was an excellent athlete. Mike played for his high school football team, but his true passion was baseball. He played baseball for the Slippery Rock Men's League team. Mike was an outstanding pitcher. There were scouts looking at him, but after being injured in an automobile accident, he could no longer play. He moved soon afterwards from Pennsylvania to Kentucky. Mike worked for several companies during his lifetime, including Bashlin Industries, Grove City, PA, Copeland Farm, Nicholasville, KY and AEP Industries, Nicholasville, KY. Mike met his wife, Kathy, while they were both working in the Thoroughbred horse industry in Kentucky. They were married in June of 1993. They enjoyed 31 years together, sharing their love of horses and dogs. Mike's hobbies included following major league baseball, NFL football and playing darts with friends. A private memorial gathering will be held later in Pennsylvania.
