She went to school in York. She married Roscoe Lawson Silk in 1953 in York, Pennsylvania. She was a loving wife and mother for many years. Mary is preceded in death by Her Spouse: Roscoe Lawson Silk, Her parents: Florence and Lester Meyers, Daughters: Susan C. Silk and Shirley A. Silk. Mary is survived by Children: Deborah S. Silk, Roscoe Jr. Silk, Daughter in Law: Holly Silk, Grandchildren: Desiree C. Neal and Roscoe Silk III, Great-grandchildren: Savannah Silk, Karissa Neal, Jaelyn Neal, and Donovan Neal A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 7-9 PM February 28, 2024 at Fred Hunters. Arrangements are by Fred Hunters Funeral Home. The family of Mary wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Chaplain Garry Gorden and Trustbridge, and so many who helped to provide the best care possible for her on her journey. Roscoe Lawson Silk, 90, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away on January 9, 2024 in Hollywood, Florida. Ross was born York, Pennsylvania to John Silk and Hilda Stahl on July 25, 1933. He went to school in York. He married Mary Louise Myers in 1953 in York, Pennsylvania. He worked construction/maintenance throughout the years. He had a love for hunting and fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. Ross is preceded in death by Parents: John Silk and Hilda Stahl, Daughters: Susan C. Silk and Shirley A. Silk. Ross is survived by Children: Deborah S. Silk and Roscoe Jr. Silk, Daughter in Law: Holly Silk, Grandchildren: Desiree C. Neal and Roscoe Silk III, Great-grandchildren: Savannah Silk, Karissa Neal, Jaelyn Neal, and Donovan Neal A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 7-9 PM February 28, 2024 at Fred Hunters. Elder Dr. David Lee Lewis, Sr. was born on February 20, 1938 in Cordele, GA to the parents of Johnnie Mae Jones and Duffy Lewis. He grew up in Belle Glade, FL and later moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL. On January 25, 1959 he married Annie Ruth Battle, they settled down in a little town name Port Salerno, FL where he made a home for him and his family!He was called into the Ministry in October, 1960. His first Pastorate assignment was in 1962 at Church of God by Faith in Stuart, FL and he reported for duty January, 1963.On Tuesday, February 13th, Elder Lewis closed his eyes peacefully for the last time at home with his family and gained his wings.Over the years Dr. Lewis has achieved many goals and received several accolades. But, his greatest accomplishment was winning souls for Christ!

Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” Spitler (née {Prendergast}) died peacefully at Holy Cross hospice on February 8, 2024 in {Fort Lauderdale, FL} at the age of {86}. {Peggy} is survived by {her} {son, Bob Spitler of Pompano Beach, FL; granddaughter, Holly Spitler, a student at the University of Central Florida; brother John Prendergast of Sebastian, FL and sister Patricia Easter of Fancy Gap, VA. {She} is preceded in death by {her husband, Robert Spitler, her mother, Janet Prendergast, her father John Prendergast, her sister Janet Manikas, and her loving daughter-in-law Estelle Carrol Spitler}. {Peggy} was born on {August 28, 1937} in {New York City, NY} to {Janet and John Prendergast}. {She} graduated from {Clifton High School} in {Clifton, NJ} in 1955. {She} married {Robert “Bob” Spitler}, {an engineer} in {1962}. Peggy and Bob met in {Pompano Beach, FL} after she moved there in 1960. {Peggy} worked as an office manager for {the School Board of Broward County} for over twenty years. She always loved and was loved by children. The couple welcomed {one} son Bob Spitler into their home in 1964. {Bob, Holly and so many others} remember {Peggy} as a {beautiful, smart, funny and fun loving} {mother, grandmother and friend}. She offered great love, care, positive energy and encouragement. {Peggy} moved into a condominium at Waterford Point, in Pompano Beach in 1999 which she loved and was proud of. She made many great friends in the building and she resided there until she passed. She loved to invite friends and family to her place for great parties, holiday dinners and game nights. All who knew Peggy appreciated her smile, humor, positive outlook and great enthusiasm for life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to {The American Cancer Society or Habitat for Humanity}.
