Chrystal LaNiece Booker transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. She was born on May 6, 1962 to Mary Alice Martin in Seattle, Washington. Chrystal was raised as an only child however, throughout her life she inherited friends that became like sisters and brothers because of her sweet sprit and loving heart. After relocating to Portland, Oregon Mary Alice and James Britt reconnected and the two married, raising Chrystal together. She attended Faubion Elementary and Rose City Middle School. She graduated from Madison High School, Class of 1979, where she ran track and field and formed lifelong friendships. After graduation, she attended Phagans Beauty School where she began her career as a talented hair stylist. A few years into her career Chrystal met the love of her life, Randy Booker. Their lovely and unique love for each other made them inseparable. In 1985 Chrystal and Randy became husband and wife cherishing 38 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with their daughter, Cierra and son, Austin. Years later Randy and Chrystal were further blessed with two grandsons, Elijah and Esaiah, who lovingly called her "Mema". She was a loving and nurturing grandmother to her grandsons who brought so much joy into her life. On any given day she could be found picking them up from school, taking them to sports practices and sharing valuable life lessons or enjoying a meal she had prepared for them. Chrystal found joy in attending Mt. Calvary C. O. G. I. C. Church, later known as Daniels Memorial C. O. G. I. C. , which she called her home church since the young age of nine. She served as a faithful member until her last days . Those acquainted with Chrystal knew her as a devout woman who had a deep love for the Lord. She was a familiar face singing joyfully in the choir during Sunday morning services. Over time, she assumed various vital roles within the church, transitioning into a praise team leader, assisting in the kitchen, generously offering rides to church members to and from services, and wholeheartedly making herself available whenever help was needed. Her unwavering support and willingness to contribute was always accompanied by a warm and welcoming smile. This further exemplified Chrystal's commitment to serving her Church. Some of the activities Chrystal enjoyed were skiing, camping, traveling and gardening. Her love for gardening was unmistakable as her yard was adorned with an abundance of beautiful flowers and plants. Her greatest joy came from being with her family. Their home was always open to family and friends, as her generosity attracted people to her. Barbeques, holidays and family gatherings were a common occurrence. There was always a bountifulness of food and lots of love for everyone. Chrystal was a kind , confident, caring, loving and non-judgmental person, who was a great guidance and advice counselor. She could always be trusted with personal confidence of which she would never consider breaking. Her willingness to listen to others was a true gift. These were a few of the many engaging qualities that made people love her even more. Chrystal is preceded in death by her parents Mary Alice -Britt and James W. Britt Jr. , father Herbert Amerson, and stepbrother , James W. Britt III. She is survived by her step-father, Ernest Martin, her devoted husband, Randy Booker and her loving children, Cierra (Jorge) Maceo and Austin Booker, grandchildren, Elijah and Esaiah Maceo, sisters, Denise Ragland, Jeanette Mebane, Deborah (Todd) Cross, brother Gregory Amerson, sister-in-law's, Sandra Gabner, Sharon (Eddie) Lincoln, Judy Booker, Tammy (Zeno) Latin, brother-in-law, Lindsey Booker, god -sisters, Crystina, Tiffani and Tracie Baldwin , multiple cousins, nieces, nephews and a wealth of friends who will miss her dearly.
