Michael Dolin Mullins, age 61 of Dardanelle, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at his home. He was born July 24, 1962 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Robert Dude Mullins and Dorothy Marie Hall Mullins. He loved fishing, hunting, riding the backroads, being with family and friends and shooting the bull with anyone. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Douglas; children, Misty Gipson (Neil) of Atkins, Kennan Gililland and her mother, Carolyn Mullins of Ola, Sabrina Mullins of Dardanelle; stepsons, Josh and Andrew Douglas; siblings, Bob Mullins (Judy) of Hot Springs Village, Cliff Mullins (Lana) of Ola, Troy Mullins of Little Rock, Lela Leach of Dardanelle, Davy Mullins (Anna) of Plainview, Kenny Mullins (Melba) of Plumerville; grandchildren, Addison Mullins, Michael Gipson, Joshua Douglas, Pyper Mullins, Kinsley McDaniel and numerous nieces, nephews that he dearly loved. Garry Garner

Garry Cortez Garner, 85, of Gravelly, Fourche Valley, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 of pneumonia. Garry, also affectionately known to many as Mr. G, was born on October 28, 1938, to Otho and Beatrice (Gwin) Garner at the old Garner's home place in Gravelly, less than a quarter mile from where he lived for the past fifty-three years. Garry was a graduate of Fourche Valley High School. After graduating from Williams Baptist University he began a career in teaching. He first taught English in Winslow, Arkansas, followed by several years at Fourche Valley, and then was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to teach in Petersburg, Alaska, where he met the love of his life, Sheila, and her three tag-along children, whom he later adopted. Garry and Sheila eventually returned to Arkansas where he earned his Master's Degree at Arkansas Tech University, having written the book, Smokey River Destiny, for his thesis, which was about his wife's family's journey and life in Alberta, Canada. Garry's teaching career brought him back to his HS Alma Mater in Fourche Valley where he taught for many years before he and Sheila founded America's Pet Registry (APRI) in 1992. Despite many challenges, APRI has gone on to become the country's second largest pet registry for dogs. This was Garry's lifetime achievement. Garry is predeceased by his parents Otho and Beatrice (Gwin) Garner, nephews Kevin & Kerry Ferguson, and numerous beloved Silky Terrier dogs, especially Rockin' Robin. Garry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sheila Ada (Parrish); sister Jerry Ferguson (David Ryker); brother Rodney (Susan) Garner; children David (Dana) Garner, Susan (Marcus) Richmond, and Chris (Kelly) Garner: grandchildren Kelly, Colin, Will, Meredith, Miranda, Shane, Aaron and Josh; great grandchildren Finn, Isla, Stryker, Nova and Winston; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Robin VI. Omar Jerry Harrington, 82, passed away on December 2, 2023, at Mitchell's Nursing Home. Omar served his country as a bosun mate in the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged on December 14, 1964. Following his military service, he worked in the construction industry with the California Ironworkers Association. In 1985, he made Arkansas his home, where he worked as a mechanic at Wayne Poultry until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Harrington (AR); daughter, Michelle Harrington (CA); father, Omar Lambert Harrington (OH); and mother, Elizabeth Sien Harrington Vonderhaar (CA). He is survived by his son, Wayne Harrington (CA), as well as his stepdaughters, Tiffany Daniel (OK) and Shauna Donnell (AR), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James Clark Lawrence, Jr. , age 85 of Dardanelle, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born December 12, 1937 in Elmira, New York to the late James Clark Lawrence, Sr. and Geraldine Mae Ives Lawrence. He volunteered at Area Agency on Aging in his retirement and was also a limo, taxi and bus driver. He loved to magnet fish, tell jokes and try his hand at art. He never met a stranger; he was always there with a kind word and loved sharing his positive and optimistic outlook. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia Lawrence. Judith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years, Lynell Elliott; brother, Leonard Elliott; sister, Jean Weir; grandson, Joel Elliott; father in-law and mother-in-law, Otho and Evelyn Elliott and a son-in-law, Jimmy Chilton.
