Mrs. Cora Lea Johnson Skinner, age 81, of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023. She was born May 5, 1942, in Cleburne County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Ulos Johnson and the late Bessie Junior Johnson. Cora Lea worked in food service for Carroll County Schools for 39 years, most of which was at Bowdon High School. She enjoyed her retirement by playing Rook with her friends every Tuesday evenings, quilting, and arts & crafts. She will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and loyal sister. She was a devoted member of Corinth Baptist Church in Bowdon. Mrs. Cora Lea will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Euell Skinner; siblings, Roy Johnson, Odell Johnson, Loys Johnson, Carl Johnson, Claude Johnson, Bertha Johnson, Albert Johnson, Billy Johnson, Ethel Johnson, Lucile, Johnson, and Cara Johnson. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Roger Skinner, Eddie & Melanie Skinner, and Stephen & Hope Skinner; grandchildren, Cameron Skinner, Matthew & Tabetha Skinner, Ryan & Kristy Skinner, Blake Skinner, and Lance Skinner; great-grandchildren, Jett Skinner, Ruby Skinner, Emma Skinner, Will Skinner, Amy Skinner, Kayne Skinner, Madelynn Skinner, Ella Kate Skinner, Emily & Ben Marsh, Elissa Robinson, and Tyler Robinson. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Bowdon, Georgia, with Rev. Gary Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
