Michael May Obituary

Michael Edward May ("Mike") of Quincy, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 5th, in Charleston, Illinois, at age 74. He was born August 3, 1949, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Donald and Evelyn May of Mansfield, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother, Duane of Fisher, Illinois. Mike served most of his life as a nurse at the Illinois Soldiers and Sailors Home in Quincy, where he retired in the early 2000s. He loved fishing and sports, particularly his beloved Fighting Illini. Survivors include his daughters Darbi May, Heather McLaughlin, Brandy May, and Christie May; sons Michael May II, and Damon May; brothers Ken, Randy, Darrell, Kevin; sister Darlene; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Farmer City, IL. His memorial service will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Farmer City, IL.
