In Loving Memory of Michael R. LuedersIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael R. Lueders, age 73, on September 4th, 2023. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous four-month battle with Pancreatic cancer. Born in Victoria, Texas, in 1950, Michael (Mike) Lueders was a proud Texan through and through but also found a second home while working in Wyoming. He was a graduate of George West High School. His years of experience in the fields of oil and gas, uranium, and precious metal mining led him to explore distant lands, forging lasting friendships and creating countless cherished memories along the way. His adventurous spirit and warm heart endeared him to people from all walks of life. Mike's handshake was a commitment, a sign of his word, and a symbol of his integrity. In a world where trust can be rare, he stood as a steadfast reminder of the importance of keeping one's promises. His legacy goes beyond words; it's a testament to the strength of his character. Mike was a man of many passions, but none compared to his love for family and the great outdoors. He found solace and joy in fishing and hunting, often sharing these cherished moments with his family and friends. His laughter, stories, and endless enthusiasm for these adventures will forever be etched in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marjorie Lueders, but his memory lives on in the hearts of his beloved family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Linda, and their two children, Sarah Lueders (Brian Sobolewski) and Justin Lueders (Diane). Mike is also survived by his siblings, Kerry Lueders (Rose), Steve Lueders (Tina), and Pam Collier (Lyn). He was the proud grandfather of Davin Lueders and bonus grandchildren Leah and Erica Sobolewski. He was also an uncle to several nieces and nephews. Beau Meyer, age 19 of Victoria passed away on Tuesday December 5th in Victoria, Texas. Beau was born in Butler, Missouri to Erica and Eugene Meyer on May 4th, 2004. He graduated Crossroads Christian Academy in May of 2022. He subsequently graduated from Victoria College in May of 2023 with a Process Technology Certificate. He was hired on at Invista as a process operator, where he also is part of the emergency response team. Beau had an unparalleled zest for life and adventure. He passed tragically young, but really did live life to the fullest. He was never known to back down from a challenge, had the biggest heart, and truly enriched the lives of everyone he met. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and cousin. He had a protective heart and truly cherished his family. The Meyer family could always depend on him for smiles and a good time. Beau enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting Whataburger merchandise, spending time with family, and he had a passion for skydiving. He made 125 jumps and obtained his class A, and B license. He recently developed an enthusiasm for taking Caribbean Cruises with family and was looking forward to taking as many as he could. His family will forever remember his smile and passion for life and love. Beau is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Pamela and William White, as well as his maternal great grandparents Dallas and Ruth "Conet" Boudreaux. Barbara was born November 8, 1951, to Rudolph John Stastny Sr. and Sylvia Pavelka Stastny. Visitation will be held Monday, December 11, 2023, 5 pm - 7 pm, with a Rosary beginning at 7 pm at Grace Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 10:00 am, followed by graveside service at Shillerville Cemetery on Raven Road, Victoria, Texas. A reception will follow at the Grace Funeral Home event center. Barbara was a loving mother and NiNi. If she wasn't rolling newspapers, she was sitting on the front porch caring for her grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Johnny Fojtik, and her brother, Kenneth Stastny. Barbara left many loving memories to her daughter Kathleen Caso (Chris), son Brandon Fojtik (Heather), and daughter Alysha Jimenez (Francisco). Her deep love for her grandchildren: Nicole, Kirk, Aden, Kailyn, Emmy and McKenna. Her love for her great-grandchildren Ryker, Oaklynn, and Rynlee. She also leaves many memories for her niece Crystal Stastny, daughter Callie, and nephew Tyler Stastny (Callie). Surviving Barbara is her sister, Diana Stastny, brother, Rudy Stastny (Mary Gail), and sister-in-law, Annie Fojtik. James Albert Lucas was born on May 30, 1947 in Cuero, TX to the late Joseph Albert and Alice McGuffin Lucas. He attended Daule High school in Cuero, where he was a shining star on the football team. After graduating from high school, James attended and played football four years at Prairie View A&M, in Prairie View, TX. James met and married the love of his life, Judy Ann Jones and to this union, three sons: Jarvin Ardell, Justin Ashley and Jared Armand were born. James and Judy enjoyed 54 wonderful years of marriage. The family lived in Victoria, TX while James worked at Union Carbide as a pipefitter and foreman and retired with over 32 years. He coached Little League Baseball for 12 years. He brainstormed and started the Victoria Crossroads Clubs in helping kids from ages 9 to 18 to be involved in summer track and field and swimming, which produced multiple National Champions over his 11-yr tenure. He enjoyed making different types of wine, but was specifically known for his famous mustang grape, handpicked from Victoria and area counties. James developed a passion for genealogy and was able to research even more after retirement. He traveled around and visited multiple black cemeteries in 11 surrounding counties and walked in and around headstones documenting information. His database is available to the public and can be found online through the Regional History Center at VC/UHV Library with information on African American Cemeteries, with resting places of the black community ancestors. He received The African American Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian Award in 2012. He was inducted into the Victoria County Genealogy Society Hall of Fame for his works on the African American Cemeteries. He was involved in the Stroman Raider Booster Clubs and participated in many local community non-profit events. James was an active member at Webster Chapel United Methodist Church for 34 years. Some of his responsibilities included Usher Board, Trustee, Methodist Men, and Lay Leadership Ministry Team. Although his parents and great grandchildren, Catalina and Gabriella, predeceased him, there are so many left that will miss him dearly. They include his wife Judy and sister Katherine Lucas; Aunt Erma James; sons, Jarvin (Tamara); Justin (Colleen); Jared (Gloria); and nephew Jozef (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Bianca, Jordan, Jazmine, Austin, Jackson, Alice E. and Victoria K. ; great nephew; great niece and cousins. Michelle Humphries, 54, of Victoria, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Michelle Renee Dial Humphries arrived in this world at 5:19 a. m. on Friday, April 18, 1969. She departed unexpectedly in her home on the morning of Thursday, November 30, 2023. During her time on this Earth, Michelle lived a servant life, loving and caring for every being who crossed her path. She was born at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, to Judith Dale Smith Dial of Kentucky and Michael Curtis Dial of Kansas. She and her family later moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, where she resided through her elementary years. She returned to Rogers, Arkansas, from Texas for part of her high school career. She then relocated to Texas for her senior year. Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Victoria High School in Texas in 1987. Between her time in Arkansas and Texas, she left an incredible mark. She went on to attend Victoria College in Victoria, Texas. On Friday, December 12, 1997, she married the love of her life, Larry Humphries. On Tuesday, January 29, 2002, she gave birth to her precious son, Logan Humphries. He was Michelle's entire world. Michelle's devotion to her family knew no bounds, and her role as a wife and mother brought her immeasurable happiness. She started her career with Watermark Graphics in 1995. Michelle served as the Office Manager at Watermark Graphics until the day of her untimely passing. She was a dedicated employee and was loved by her co-workers. During her time at Watermark, she was an integral part of the Watermark Graphics family and the success of the company. She was a devoted member of Parkway Church. She was an active member of various PTOs throughout Logan's education. In her community, she actively volunteered at: Christ's Kitchen, Warriors Weekend, Dorothy O'Connor Pet Adoption Center, and the Sportsman Church. Her community involvement extended to many other volunteer activities, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Michelle loved to travel, visit with family and friends, and spend time serving in her community. She was an avid reader and movie enthusiast, loved attending music concerts, and enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Smith; her father, Michael C. Dial; her brother, Dwane Maynard; her brother, Curtis Dial; her grandparents, James & Francis Smith (maternal) and Willard & Elsie Dial (paternal), and Larry's parents, Ross and Jane Humphries. Michelle is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Larry Humphries; her cherished son, Logan Humphries; her step-mother, Deanna Dial; her sister, Wendi Jones (Mike); her brother, Michael James Dial (Kindra); her sister, Ashley Williams (Edward), her sister-in-law, Kathy (Humphries) Patton. Twelve nieces and nephews; Michael Dial, Kori Ford, Jonathan Dial, Kreeli Ford, Tiffany (Dial) Jackson, Jessica (Maynard) Ryan, Aleson Williams, Nicholas Williams, Christopher Patton, Stephanie Patton (Laurel), Kasey Humphries and Matthew Humphries. Plus, her sidekick and beloved dog, Scout, and loyal cat, Callie. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Her passing truly leaves a void. Michelle's beautiful smile and empathetic heart will be greatly missed as she touched the lives of many. She exemplified God's two greatest commandments: to love the Lord with all of your heart and to love thy neighbor. A light truly went out the day she left this world. Her legacy of love and service will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who were beyond blessed to know her. Bobbie Daniel, 73, passed away November 28, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. Bobbie was born July 8, 1950, in San Angelo, TX to the late Margie Cates and TJ Williams. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Daniel; daughter, Melissa Wood (Sheldon) of Johnson City; son, Raymond Clifton (Dee) of Dallas; step-daughter, Emily Ann Daniel of Austin; sisters, Sheri Masters Delaney (Tim) of Trinity, FL. Tracy Cassidy (Archie) of League City; brother, Tommy Williams (Teresa) of San Angelo and her grandchildren, Brooke Bland (Jason), Kiley Pulliam (Jared), Whitney Wood, Garrison Wood (Austin), Jacob, Joshua, Jesse, Abigail, Grace, Brandon and Mattie Clifton. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Katie Clifton, and brother, Jimmy Williams. Bobbie retired from the Sheriff's office after 23 years of service. She was a mentor and friend to all she came in contact with. The Sheriff's office was a loving second family and where she met her soulmate, Tony Daniel. Their love story lasted 28 years (25 married) during which time they enjoyed traveling to state and national parks, hunting, and spending as much time as they could with their grandchildren. Bobbie's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and was known affectionately as "Grandma Bobbie. " Bobbie was also a dog mom to her two boys, Ranger and Ruger. Her two children joked that they were "the favorites. " Bobbie has left a legacy of love and caring. Her family is beyond grateful for all the time they had with her and she will forever be an inspiration of grace, beauty, and strength. James Ray Ottinger passed away in Victoria, Texas, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born in Pecos, Texas of October 24, 1930 to Leonard Ray Ottinger and Goldie Pearl Glaspy. James served in the Army during the Korean War. At 93, he still wore his Korean War veteran cap proudly. After serving in the Army, he became a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Civil Service division at Kelly AFB until his retirement. His passions in life were his family, restoring old cars and fishing. After retirement, he moved to a small cabin on Lake Medina which he absolutely loved and began spending more time traveling (never letting the grass grow under his feet). Pat lived in Gonzales, Texas and worked for the City of Gonzales as dispatcher for many years. She was a loving and caring wife, mom, and grandmother. She also bragged on all her grandchildren. Anyone that knew Pat knew she loved all her dogs and always had the most unique names for them all. She would let you know what she thought even if you didn't agree with it and never bought one of anything. Robert "Bobby" Thomas Trevino (65), loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on November 27, 2023. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Victoria, Texas, born on September 22, 1958, to the late Beatrice Bazan and Federico Trevino. Bobby was a proud member of the Victoria community who served in many organizations throughout his life. He was a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Knights of Columbus, the Christian Youth Organization, the Breakfast Club, and president of the local and state Texas Restaurant Association. Additionally, Bobby was a freelance photographer and was a partner with the Revisita De Victoria Newspaper. Bobby proudly served as a trustee on the VISD Board of Trustees for over 12 years. Bobby positively impacted our community, and he will be truly missed. Bobby embarked a career that showcased his strong work ethic and dedication. Bobby proudly ran his family's restaurant, Siesta Mexican Restaurant, from the age of 21 to 48, and owned Maggie's Meat Market for two years. Bobby greatly enjoyed seeing all his customers and serving his family's recipes. Bobby is survived by his wife, Maria Trevino; children, Roberto "Kiko" Trevino (Sarah), Donna Santillan (Mykeal), Monica Trevino (Adam), and Jose Trevino (Mariana); Siblings, Gloria Cano (Julius), Francis Franklin (Rodney), Esther Trevino, and John Trevino; and grandchildren, Amelie Adame, Anthony Adame, Sean Carbajal and Sophia Vargas.
