Fairfield, TX
Mike Lennington entered eternal rest September 07, 2023. Mike was born to Jack and Carolynn Lennington on January 22, 1955, in Anderson, Indiana where he grew up. He graduated from Anderson High in 1973, and Indiana University in 1977 with a degree in Criminal Justice and was a good standing member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Mike moved to Texas in 1980 and began working as a successful salesman for James River Paper Company. Mike met his wife Brenda Brock and they soon married in 1984. They welcomed their one son, Ryan Lennington and later a granddaughter, Lucy. At the age of 40 discovered he liked working with his hands. He opened his own swimming pool repair and maintenance company named, "The POOL Man. " He was passionate about his business and very hard-working. Despite many health issues, he continued to work until a few weeks before his passing. Mike was a water bug! He loved watersports, swimming, scuba, and snorkeling. He also loved playing golf, music, hunting, fishing, and building guns. Over the last 10 years, Mike has suffered debilitating health issues, but he fought very hard to overcome them all so he could be with us. He continued to work, doing what he loved, so he could support those he loved. Mike's best friend said, "When we spoke of how much our wives meant to us, Mike was fun loving and so was I. We probably partied more than we should have at times and our wives were sort of opposite to that. He said, "they keep us between the ditches" referring to if we were driving a car as in the cars of life, they kept us balanced and for the most part out of trouble. We didn't do well without supervision. " The Lord had been watching over him and had provided him with many miracles over the last 14 years until He called Mike home. Mike was very spiritual, and he loved the Lord. Mike lost his battle with lung disease on Thursday. His wife and son were by his side as his favorite band, Steely Dan, played in the background as he peacefully passed. Mike knew he was loved and was able to say his goodbyes to his family and friends. "He is my love, friend, and the strongest man I know. " Our hearts are broken but we take comfort in knowing that Mike is no longer suffering and is with our Lord and Savior and is at peace. Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather, loyal friend, fun loving, kind, caring, stubborn, and funny. Very quick witted and always ready with a funny sarcastic reply. Mike had a wicked dry sense of humor, considerate of others, and always willing to help others to the very end. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Jack Lennington and Carolynn Lennington, Father in-law, Patrick Martin, and nephew Corey Peters. Visitation will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
