Michael Lancaster Obituary

Pittsfield, ME- Michael James Lancaster, 73, passed away April 7, 2023. He was born on March 27, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ernest and Patricia (Von Hoene) Lancaster and spent his formative years in Western Massachusetts. After graduating from Agawam High School, where he played football and baseball, Mike began working as a salesman for Sears, where he continued his employment for 25 years before relocating to central Maine in the early 1990's. While there, Mike met and married his beloved wife, Lita in 1996. Together, they owned and operated the Newport Redemption Center for over 25 years, a variety store located in Newport, Maine. Though he remained dedicated to his work, Mike enjoyed spending time by the ocean, cooking, traveling, watching football, and listening to music. He also had a great interest in politics and current affairs. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Maureen Romanoski. His memory and legacy will remain with his wife, Lita (Tabalno) Lancaster; his children, Gabe, Ali, and Nathan; his siblings, Kevin, Ric, Dan, Kelly, Dave, and Matt; and his precious grandchildren, Ryan, Keira, Michaela and Adrienne. He also leaves his companion, Molly, a German Shephard/Husky mix, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation will be held on May 5, 2023 from 10am-12pm at the Beers & Story Funeral Home in Palmer, MA, followed by a procession to St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield for Mike's Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial will be held at the family's discretion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
