"Michael Anthony Faz, aged 42, died on Wednesday September 6, 2023 in Poteet, Texas. He is survived by his 6 children, Michael, Dominick, April, Anthony, Aiden, and Xyilee Faz; parents, Mother Irene and Stepfather Joe Escobar, along with Father Miguel and Stepmother Sylvia Faz; Siblings, Desiree Escobar, Moriah Escobar, Evita Escobar, and Amanda Faz. Everyone knew Michael as Big Mike or as his family would call him, Anthony. He was one of the best storytellers you could ever meet and would have a room laughing. From a young age he loved cars (Hondas) and watching Bruce Lee. He was a wonderful protector and would have your back whenever you needed him. The Visitation will begin Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Camero Funeral Home with the Rosary starting at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning on September 15, 2023 at 10:00 am at Camero Funeral Home. Burial will follow. The family would like to acknowledge and thank two special Aunts, Anita Ramos and Yolanda Garcia, and Cousins, Auriella Perez and Veronica Garcia for helping and being by his side through it all. "Jose Zamora Jr. (Flaco Zamora), aged 81, of Poteet, Texas, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Flaco, born on April 4, 1942, to Jose and Josephine Zamora in Poteet, Texas, dedicated the majority of his life to the construction industry. Flaco was a sociable individual who effortlessly formed friendships wherever he went, often sharing laughs and memorable moments with friends old and new. He found enjoyment in activities like gambling, playing bingo, and purchasing scratch-off lottery tickets. His daily routine included a visit to the local convenience store, Picos, where he drank a cup of coffee while engaging in friendly conversations and, of course, purchasing his daily scratch off lottery ticket. Known for his kind-hearted nature, Flaco was ever ready to extend a helping hand to those in need without judgment. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his cherished family and his beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Johnny Joe Zamora of Poteet and Mary Zamora of California, as well as his sisters: Olga Salazar and husband Jimmy Salazar, Chafie Gutierrez and husband Emilio Gutierrez, and Juanita Oliva and husband Andres Oliva. He leaves behind a legacy cherished by his grandchildren Sarah Zamora and Jonie Zamora, great-grandchildren Jazmyn Caballero, Abcdee Duran, Lyanna Patlan, and Michael Patlan Jr. , along with numerous nephews and nieces. Flaco Zamora was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Josephine Zamora, as well as his siblings: Antonio Zamora, Ricardo Zamora, Mary Zamora, and Cecilia Perez. His memory will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him, and his warm-hearted spirit will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 3:00 p. m. - 8:00 p. m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p. m. On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, a funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a. m. at St. Phillips Benizi Church in Poteet with interment to follow at Madre Dolorosa Cemetery # 1 in Poteet. In Loving MemoryJohn D. Wenger, (Jack) 58 of San Antonio, Texas passed away in Poteet, Texas on 8 August 2023. Jack was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Pauline Wenger of Myerstown, Pennsylvania. He attended Eastern Lebanon County High School and was a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force. Jack was a Master Sergeant in the Air Force and served 33 years before retiring in 2017. He also retired from the Federal Civil Service the same year. He worked for Flight Safety Services Corporation and CymStar as a C-5 Flight Engineer Training Instructor, a dedicated mentor and teacher to the next generation of flight engineer students. Jack enjoyed live music, reading, telling aircrew stories, football, baseball, racquetball, cooking, coffee, bourbon, and anything sweet. He loved his pets, Pinta, Blonde, Nubs and Cat. Jack is survived by his wife Wanda N. Wenger of Poteet, Texas, Stepson Nicholas Martin of Austin, Texas, Brother Drew Wenger of Grand Junction, Colorado, Uncle Jay Wenger (Nancy Wenger) of Richland, Pennsylvania, Uncle George Wenger (Barbara Wenger) of St. Louis, Missouri, Sister-in-Law Debbie Patschke of Duncannon, PA, Niece Stephanie Moyer Patschke of Schaefferstown, PA, Niece Sonya Patschke of Hersey, PA, Cousin Jay Wenger of Richland, PA, Brother-in-Law William Cosgrove, Brother-in-Law Sean Cosgrove, Sister-in-Law Tennia Cosgrove, Father-in-Law William Cosgrove, Mother-in-Law Francoise Cosgrove, and was predeceased by Father John A. Wenger and Mother Pauline Wenger (Binkley), and Brother Dennis J. Patschke. Memorial services will be held at VFW Post 8397, 2541 W.
