Michael Daly Obituary

Michael Dennis Daly passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Veteran's Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was 77 years old. Interment will be scheduled in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Upon "Daly's" request, a portion of his ashes will also be spread in the Chikaskia River, near he and his buddy Bovard's favorite fishing hole. Born January 31, 1946 in San Francisco, California, Michael was the son of Eugene and June (Woodall) Daly. He graduated high school while living in Missouri and completed his Associate's degree at North Oklahoma College in Tonkawa in 1975. He would serve honorably in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict and earned his retirement through the U. S. M. C. Reserve. Michael raised three children, Daniel, Shawna, and Jennifer. They took many trips and vacations together, always road trips to destinations such as Pike's Peak, the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, Niagara Falls, San Francisco, Taos, and Las Vegas, to name a few. Michael was sure to secure a Harley Davidson tee-shirt at every stop along the way. This was such a big part of Michael's life amongst his family and his friends. Surviving family members include his daughter, Shawna Daly and her fiance, Ken Jones, Jennifer Daly Ellison and her husband, Tabor; and his grandchildren, Tabitha, Logan, Trevor, Daylee, and Mack. Michael was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; his mother, June and stepfather, John Sheik; and his father, Eugene and stepmother, Mary Daly.
