Jeanne Rita Fijux of Cape Coral, passed away on February 20, 2024. Born in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY, on August 22, 1932, she was the eldest of three born to Armand Boudreau and Yvonne A. (Pinard) Boudreau. Jeanne lived in CT, NY, and NH and enjoyed a prestigious career at New York Telephone before moving to Florida with her beloved husband, George J. Fijux, Jr (deceased 2016) to start their second successful careers as realtors. Their Catholic faith was a very important part of their 62-year marriage, and Jeanne was very involved in lay ministry throughout her life. Jeanne will be remembered as a tirelessly generous, loving, and kind soul. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor R. (Boudreau) Tandy, her brother Henry Boudreau, her nieces Karen A. (Tandy) Thompson, Renee T. (Tandy) Kealy, Elizabeth M. Tandy, her nephew Matthew Boudreau, as well as many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church on Thursday, February. 29, 2024 at 11:00am.

Joseph Bradford Winslett IV, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 15 years, formerly of Peyton, CO and Ramona, CA, passed from this life on Friday, February 16, 2024 in Cape Coral. He was born March 15, 1954 to the late Joseph Bradford Winslett III and the late Doris Jean Winslett Gottshall. Joe had a strong devotion to life, family, and adventure that he enjoyed and shared with Venita and family and friends on various travels around the world. That same devotion he put into his profession of over 35 years as a Union plumber/ pipe fitter and anything else Joe had his hands on or put his mind to. He enjoyed various hobbies from tennis, boating, riding bikes, motorcycles, and various other interests. No matter what was going on Joe was never one to sit idly by always on the go and willing to lend a hand whenever there was a need. Sitting was not in his vocabulary. He would go above and beyond what was expected, bringing quality, laughter and joy no matter the circumstance. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Venita Winslett of Cape Coral; children, Jennifer Winslett of Florence, Montana, and Joseph B Winslett V of Palm Desert, CA; grandchild, Ashley Finley of Raleigh NC; great grandchild, Liam Finley; brother, Brian Winslett of Florence, KY; nieces and nephew, Samantha Stein of Kings Mountain, KY, Claudia Winslett of Lares, Puerto Rico, and Adam Winslett of Cleveland, OH; sisters and brother in law, Judy Arey of Redding, CA, Janelle Shackelford of St. Regis, MT, and Edward Abbott of Ramona, CA; nieces and nephews in law, Audra, Anna, Trina, Amanda, Jason, Konrad, Lucas, and William; and his sweet dog Lola. Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Winslett. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, 2514 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33914. ROMEO, Frank, age 68, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024. Born on November 30, 1955, he was raised in Jersey City living many places as his career with United Parcel Service expanded, relocating to England, Charlotte, NC, Florida and Atlanta, GA settling in Cape Coral, FL six years ago. Frank graduated from Jersey City State College with his Bachelor’s Degree and starting working with UPS in 1974. His leadership, work ethic and management skills propelled him up the corporate ladder with UPS. He retired as Vice President after 44 years of loyal and dedicated employment. He is known affectionately to his grandchildren as “Pop”. He was an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast who loved the New York Mets and the New York Giants. He leaves a great legacy with his family and friends and will be deeply missed. Frank is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rose Romeo (nee Magrini), and siblings, Vinny Galgano and Louise Wawzynski. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cookie Romeo (nee Santos); two beloved sons, Mark Romeo with wife Amy, and Chris Romeo with partner Van; three cherished grandchildren, Caiden, Alex and Evee; a dear sister, Ann Wares, with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Viewing Monday 10 am to 12 pm at Fuller Metz Funeral Services, Cape Coral, followed by a 1 pm Mass at St. Katharine Drexel RC Church, Cape Coral. Robert (Bob) Louis Hammer passed away on Feb. 20, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. Bob was 87. Bob was born to Louis & Marcella Hammer (deceased), June 12, 1936 in Fremont, Ohio and had three sisters, Marilyn Hamilton (deceased), Rosalie Strable (deceased) and Cheryl Nye. After graduating from Gibsonburg high school, Bob attended Toledo Barber School in Toledo, Ohio and barbered for Pete Zimmerman at Pete's Barber Shop in Fremont from 1957 to 1975. Bob enlisted in the National Guard in 1958. Bob married Gethlean (Peggy) Faulkner Nov. 26, 1960. They have two daughters, Kelly Ann of Cape Coral and Robin Ann of Van Buren, Ohio. Bob, Peggy and family moved to Cape Coral, FL in 1975 when Bob received his General Contractors Lic and owned and operated Hammer Construction Company in Cape Coral until his retirement in 1995. Bob also has four grandchildren, Charelle Eaton and Sara Rosenberger both of Ohio and Paul Denmark (deceased) and Anya Denmark of Cape Coral. In addition Bob is survived by two great grandchildren.

Peter Algera, 86, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL for the past 36 years, formerly of Prospect Park, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in Cape Coral. He was born January 29, 1938 in Paterson, NJ to Hessel and Margaret Algera, now deceased. Peter was of the Protestant faith and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a student at Eastern Christian school formally of Prospect Park. Peter worked at the Paterson Evening News, Hawthorne Press and the Shopper newspaper. He was very proud of being a volunteer fireman in Hawthorne. Upon moving to North Fort Myers, he obtained his livery license, ran his own taxi service and told stories of the interesting and famous people he had met. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Algera of North Fort Myers; four children, Susan Dykstra of Hawthorne, NJ, David Algera of Hawthorne, NJ, Jonathan Algera of Hawthorne, NJ, and Ruth Ruehle (Michael) of Little Egg Harbor Township; stepchild, Michael Bessette of Paramus; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Jennie, Thomas, Shane, Emily, and Jonathan; as well as six great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jonathan, Aaliyah, Nathanial, Autumn, and Leah. Peter was preceded in death by his two stepchildren, Edward, and Charmain; and his brother, Albert Algera.
