Leona May Jipp went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born in Corso, MO, the eldest daughter of Robert Lee and Winnie Jane (Cochran) Mansfield. Leona was a graduate of Bellflower School in Bellflower, MO and Sanford-Brown College in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed a successful secretarial profession in St. Louis, MO and Allentown, PA before moving with her family to Jacksonville, FL in 1972. During her career in Jacksonville, Leona worked at Sverdrup and Parcel Inc. , Smith & Gillespie Inc. , and The R-A-M Professional Group Inc. Leona was a member of the Eastern Star and American Business Women's Association, Golden Key Charter Chapter, where she was Woman of the Year in 1977-78. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and parents; two sisters, Mary (Will) Hagar and Nora Bell aka "Bee" (Gene) Fine, other family members and dear friends. Keeping her memory close at heart are her son, Fred Jipp, of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Ruth Dye, and grandson, Connor (Sandra) Dye of Wilmington, NC; and nieces, nephews and friends. Leona will be laid to rest in Hartley, IA at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL, the United Way, or the charity of your choice.Show more

Charles A. Rozar age 74, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023. He was a resident of Jacksonville, FL until joining the Army for the Vietnam War. Upon returning to Jacksonville, he went to work at the Jacksonville Bulk Mail Center, where he retired after 30 years of service. He then lived between Baxley, GHA and Franklin, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Rozar and Juanita Lynn Rozar, his brothers, Roy Lamar Rozar and James Ronald Rozar. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Myra (Jeanne) Rozar, a daughter, Carrie Rozar, his sisters, Mary Louise Phipps and Linda Dixon (Denean), his stepdaughters, Lucienne Russ and Jeana Lee. His grandchildren, Charles Michael Thompson and Sera Lorraine Thompson and many other grand and great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd. , Jacksonville, FL 32221 with US Army Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Charles will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2:30PM In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to The Wounded Warriors, it was one of Charles favorites.Show more

Delilah Reynolds

Delilah Huff Reynolds passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 after a short illness at the age of 88. She was the daughter of Cuba and Nova Huff, born in Butler County, Kentucky on March 15, 1935. She often fondly shared stories of growing up on a farm in the country with 9 siblings, who she remained close to throughout her life. While working as an AT&T long distance operator, she met and married Robert G. Reynolds of Louisville, Kentucky on January 29, 1955. Next month, they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage. Bob and Delilah raised their two children in Louisville near their families. In 1984, they relocated to Jacksonville, FL after a transfer with Bob's employer, CSX. After retirement, they enjoyed 27 years together and spent their days traveling, visiting family and staying connected to their friends. Delilah was a talented seamstress and loved to quilt and sew. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking, entertaining friends, storytelling and love of a good laugh. Her faith and service to God was the most important thing in her life, followed by a great love for her family. She leaves behind her loving husband and two children, Keary Reynolds and Karen (Samuel) Dean as well as four grandchildren; Jennifer (Jimmy) Meadows, John Reynolds, Caitlin (Glen) Dean, Caleigh Dean and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Corene, Yuleen, Ramona, Judson, Alline and Donovan. She is survived by her sister Morene and brothers Kenneth and James. A visitation will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, December 11, 2023 at The Lodge at Oaklawn Chapel & Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. The funeral service will be at 1:00pm and the graveside service will immediately follow. Darcile Sweat McClellan, 103, was born in Ware County, GA on September 10, 1920 and died in Jacksonville, FL on December 5, 2023. She is survived by her sister Lynelle Mason, son Gary (wife Lori), daughter- in-law Michelle McClellan (widow of her son Curtis), grandson Neil (wife Chloe) and great granddaughters Austin and Libby. She is also survived by Michelle's mother Priscilla Stover, who participated mightily in helping care for her for 30 years. Darcile was a member of Ortega Baptist Church for more than 50 years where she served in Sunday School and in the kitchen, helping host weekly dinners and special events. She enjoyed crafts, her Red Hat Club and could always be found writing and reciting bible verses for personal strength. In her younger years she worked as a cashier at the Navy Exchange at Naval Air Station Jacksonville and later in school cafeterias at a few of Ortega's elementary schools. She took pride in serving others, even offering to do laundry for her fellow assisted living residents while in her 90's. She loved her family, chocolate and soft serve ice cream.Show more

Myra Ellen Lewis was born in Pawtucket Rhode Island, April 6th,1942 to the late John and Mary McKechnie. She attended and graduated Plainville High School and continued her education in Cosmetology school. She moved to Florida in 1961 and married Arthur William Meares in 1962. They quickly started a family of four girls, Debby Sardoni, Wendy Fortune, Chris Meares and Robin Meares. Myra did many things in her life from owning the Beaches Fabric Shop to working at the local Sun Times newspaper in Jacksonville Beach, Fl. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking, seashell hunting and gardening. Many of her friends and family were blessed to receive her handmade decorations, baby clothes, blankets and beautifully made cross-stich tea towels. Myra also loved traveling and spending wonderful evenings with her family and friends cooking out, laughing, telling stories with great sass and spunk, which she is known for throughout her life, typically accompanied with a glass a wine or two. Her greatest love was becoming a grandmother. She created special memories with her daughter's and grandchildren with her Annual Christmas cookie and pie bakes. She also took great pleasure in hand making and filling the "Ho Ho" stocking 's every Christmas for her family. She was affectionately known as "Nanny" to all of her grandchildren, and they will always remember her for the many special moments she created with each of them. Myra is survived by her brother and his wife, Thomas and Judith McKechnie of Sedgewick, Maine. Her daughters, Debby Sardoni and husband Joseph of Apollo Beach, Fl, Wendy Fortune and her husband Richard of Dinsmore, Fl, Chris Meares of MacClenny, Fl and Robin Meares of Jacksonville, Fl. She has 12 grandchildren, Amber Buttrill, Jordan Buttrill, Savannah Virtuoso (husband Christopher) Noah Lee, Chad Fortune, Crystal Fortune, Colton Fortune, Andrew Sardoni, Jackie Dawson (husband David) Joseph A. Sardoni, Sophia Sardoni and Julie Mosley. Along with 9 great grandchildren, Jameson Virtuoso, Nash O'Connor, Tinsley Fortune, Wyatt Fortune, Adalynn Dawson, Josephine Dawson, Hudson Fortune, Hadley Ann Fortune and Leland Kitchens. She was blessed with John McKechnie (wife Tara) nephew, of Deer Isle, Maine. Susan McKechnie Bernier (husband Kevin) niece of Ellsworth, Maine and Tom McKechnie (wife Darcy) of Penobscot, Maine. Myra's Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at 1pm. Hardage -Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach FL, 32250 The Family will receive friends from 12:30-1:00 pm at the funeral home.
