William Robert “Bob” Ledford, 83, of Royston GA, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Bob was born in Franklin, NC to the late Harlie and Nellie May Watts Ledford. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kate Speed, Rene Ledford, John Ledford, Jim Ledford, Mary Hodgin, Betty Daniels; infant siblings, Glenn Ledford, and Bessie Ledford. He worked in construction, was a painter, and his specialty was working in the interiors of homes. He was a member of Gillespie Chapel of Franklin and loved to trout fish. He is survived by his son, Rick Ledford (Beth) of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, Bryce Ledford; sister, Linda Ledford of Danielsville, GA; his loving companion, Naomi Chastain, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 17, at 2pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Cloer and Rev. Randy Lucas will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #108 and VFW Post # 7399. Burial will be in the Gillespie Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Ledford, Dale Ledford, Keith Ledford, Kevin Ledford, Bryce Ledford, and David Treadway. Mr. Phillips was born May 21, 1949 in Royston, GA to Morris Phillips, Sr. and Virginia Dove Phillips. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a retired insurance salesman. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with friends. He was a excellent problem solver who wasn't scared to take on difficult tasks. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by his parents and sister Amelia Ann Phillips. Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at later date. Mr. Randall Curtis “Randy” McCauley, 59, of Royston, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at his home. Born on November 4, 1964 in Hammond IN, he was the son of the late Louie Curtis McCauley and Linda Faye Padgett McCauley. Mr. McCauley was a software engineer with Insource Solutions and a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Royston GA. Survivors include his wife: Joy Elizabeth McCauley; daughter: Courtney Coleman (Brandon) of Royston; grandchildren: Clete Duncan, Nash Coleman; sisters: Marsha Purves of Jasper AL, Pam Lindsey (Brian) of Cullman AL, Amy McCauley of Nashville TN; aunts: GiGi Gober (Bill), Terry Padgett; nieces: Elizabeth Purves, Stephanie Purves, Claire Hillman (Bobby), Laura Lindsey; great nephews: Jeremy Thomas and Jordan Thomas. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 9, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home. Funeral services for Mr. Randy McCauley will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Royston First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Myers and Pastor Taylor Sexton officiating. Mr. Steve Brian Boles, 67, of Royston, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at his home. Born on September 26, 1956 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Charlie Boles and Freddia Gaines Boles. Steve was a retired machine operator with Tenneco Automotive Equipment Company. He was a US Navy Veteran. Survivors include one sister: Carol B. Goode of Hartwell; two brothers: David Boles (Jean) of Myrtle Beach SC, Cliff Boles of Tucson AZ; one niece and one nephew. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Steve wished to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart County Humane Society, PO Box 1062, Hartwell, GA 30643. Angie was born in Virginia on August 1, 1964, daughter of the late Wallace Whitney Funkhouser and Elsie Jane Wetzel Funkhouser Garrison. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, John Funkhouser. Surviving are her children: John Horstkamp of Cusseta, AL, Kenneth Horstkamp of Villa Rica, Sheila Rice of Kentucky, Brandy Roberts of Bowman, James Roberts of Bowman, Whitney Roberts of Bowman, and Kayla Hogan of Athens; siblings: Brenda Flynn, Barbara Hawkins, Jack Funkhouser, Henry Funkhouser, and Carroll Funkhouser; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mrs. Gunter was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a daughter to the late J. D. and Minnie Millie Smith Butler. Mrs. Gunter was a part owner in Gunter Poultry, was a seamstress at Warren-Featherbone and was a member of the Pine Crest Baptist Church in Oakwood. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gunter is preceded in death by her brother, Carlis Butler. Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years Larry Ralph Gunter; daughters, Tammy Bruce and her husband Wayne of Dawsonville, Rhonda Kennedy and her husband Dale of Bethlehem, Vickie Ervin and her husband Stoney of Toccoa, Andria Cleveland and her husband Len of Bowersville; brothers, Arnold Butler and his wife Becky of Cleveland, Earl Butler of Gainesville, Kenneth Butler of Lula; sisters, Doris Byers of Daytona, Deb Jones and her husband Randall of Flowery Branch, Judy Senter and her husband Donnie Joe of Flowery Branch. Beatrice Kinard Mack of Dawson and later of Royston, Georgia, entered into rest on August 13, 2023. Bea was born on March 26, 1933 to Herman P. Kinard and Ruby Mae Parker Kinard and is a native of Brunson, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Robin Caroline Mack; two sons, Terry Michael Dickey and Christopher Edward Dickey; her husband, Robert Ulysses Mack; brother Malcolm Kinard; brother Carlisle Kinard; sister Helen Reese; sister Evelyn Mack; sister Bobbie Kovach; sister Patsy David; sister Gwen Seymour; sister Joyce Kinard. As a young woman, she excelled at sports, most notably basketball. As a high school senior she was voted as half of the "The Cutest Couple. " Bea married Robert Mack and eventually the couple settled in Dawson, Ga. where they raised 2 sons and a daughter. Bea was employed as a team leader and manager at Oxford Industries for many years. She was later employed by the Red Cross and by Dawson Vision Clinic. Bea was an accomplished seamstress whose skills were much in demand, especially around prom time. She was a wonderful grandmother ("Mamu"); a devoted mother; and was affectionately known as "Aunt Bea" to her nieces and nephews and extended friends and family. Bea loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Dawson Baptist Church for many years. She loved the Georgia Bulldogs and attended games in Athens with her good friend Patsy Speir during the Goff-Donnan-Richt era. As Bea’s health declined, she moved to Royston, Ga. to be closer to her daughter, Kathy Wiggins, and son in law, Mark. For the last months of her life, Bea lived at Heritage Inn of Barnesville, Ga where she was carefully and lovingly attended to by their staff and finally by hospice. The family thanks the staff at Heritage for their attentive care. Bea is survived by her daughter and son in law, Mark and Kathy Wiggins of Colbert; Grandson Motie Wiggins of Colbert; Granddaughter Laura Slade (Kyle) Weishaar of Fayetteville; Great Granddaughter Clementina Beatrice Weishaar of Fayetteville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Dawson at 2:00 p. m, Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Visitation will begin before the service at 1:00. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 309 Church St. , NE, Dawson, GA. 39842.
