Obituary Mendy Neal 48, Mendy Denise Neal, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Livermore, Kentucky on September 10, 2023. Born on November 11, 1974, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Mendy was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, bringing joy, warmth, and positivity wherever she went. A 1992 graduate of McLean County High School, Mendy displayed a lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. She furthered her studies at Brescia College in Owensboro before earning a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville. Mendy's pursuit of knowledge and her passion for helping others found a perfect union in her chosen career. Mendy dedicated her professional life to serving others as an adult guardianship worker for the State of Kentucky Department of Aging and Independent Living. Her work was not just a job, but a calling, and her devotion to her clients was evident in all she did. Mendy's compassionate nature, coupled with her deep understanding of social work, made her an invaluable asset to her community and the lives of those she served. A woman of many interests, Mendy was a member of the Baptist faith and was known for her love of crafts and archery. She enjoyed spending her free time creating beautiful pieces of art and reading. Moreover, Mendy cherished the moments spent with her family and friends, always looking forward to the next gathering or celebration. She was an avid journal keeper, meticulously recording her daily activities, thoughts, and feelings. Her journals, filled with her unique perspective on life, are treasured keepsakes that will keep her memory alive for years to come. Mendy was a woman of strength, kindness, and intelligence. Her life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and dedication. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her generous spirit, and her unwavering commitment to those she loved and served. Deanna Carol Peercy was born October 7, 1954 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Arthur Dee and Mary Rose Ralph Peercy and was known fondly as Deanna to those who knew her. Deanna's life was characterized by her dedication to her community, her love for her family, and her unwavering faith. Deanna was a proud graduate of the former Livermore High School, class of 1972, and held the distinction of being a member of the last graduating class from this institution. Her high school years were filled with cherished memories and lifelong friendships that she held dear until her final days. Married to David Hairm Edmonds on September 7, 1972, Deanna and David shared a love story that spanned more than half a century. Their marriage was a testament to their love, respect, and shared values, providing a strong foundation for their family. Deanna's love for her family was evident in her every action and word. She found immense joy in spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren. Her home was often filled with laughter, love, and the lively chatter of her loved ones. Deanna's work life was deeply intertwined with her beloved Livermore community. She retired as a clerk from the City of Livermore, where her diligent work and commitment to public service left a lasting impact. Her early career was rooted in the family business, Peercy's IGA, where she learned the values of hard work and community service from her parents. These experiences shaped her into a woman who was deeply committed to her community and its people. Deanna's interests extended beyond her family and work. She held a passion for sewing, a skill she used to create beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Deanna also loved to travel, exploring new places and experiences with a sense of curiosity and wonder. Yet, no matter how far she traveled, her heart always remained in Livermore. A member of the Livermore United Methodist Church, Deanna's faith was unwavering. She was a constant presence in the congregation, participating in church activities and serving others with a heart full of love and compassion. Deanna was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Rose Peercy and by a brother, Perry Wayne Peercy. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, David Edmonds; two sons, Daven Edmonds of Livermore and Derek Edmonds (Jody) of Pack; four grandchildren, Kyler Young, Brycen Young, Ansley Edmonds, and Wyatt Edmonds; her father, Art Peercy of Livermore; a brother, Troy Peercy (DeAnna) of Livermore; and a sister, Sherry Logsdon (Tony) of Livermore. Obituary Shirley "Junie" Hudson 73, of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at her daughter's home in Centertown. Shirley June Basham was born June 17, 1950 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Shirley W. and Wynona Snyder Basham. She was known by her loved ones as 'Junie,' a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life, Alfred Leslie "Jay" Hudson, on October 3, 1970. Their marriage was a testament to their unwavering love and commitment, and they remained happily married until Jay's passing on December 15, 2019. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. As a homemaker, Junie dedicated her life to nurturing and providing for her family. Her home was a welcoming sanctuary for all who knew her. She was a master of creating a loving and comfortable environment for her loved ones, which extended beyond her immediate family to include a wide circle of friends. Junie was a woman of many interests. She had a passion for cross-stitching, a hobby that allowed her creativity to flourish. Her handcrafted pieces were a reflection of her love for detail and her commitment to creating beautiful items for her family and friends. Junie also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as riding her golf cart with her dog around Livermore. These moments of tranquility brought her great joy and allowed her to appreciate the beauty of her surroundings. She was a woman who cherished her relationships and enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and infectious laughter made her a joy to be around. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel at home, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy. Junie's life was centered around her family. Betty Sue Dickens was born November 9, 1940 in Island, Kentucky. She was the cherished daughter of the late William James and Clara Belle Poole Dickens. Betty Sue was the beloved wife of Terry Joe Bowman, to whom she was married for 62 years, since January of 1961. Throughout her life, Betty Sue was a dedicated homemaker who created a nurturing and loving environment for her family. She was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know her. She was a living example of the values of family, love, and kindness. Betty Sue was a devoted member of the Green Brier Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She was a woman of strong faith, who believed in the power of prayer and the strength of community. Her church family was a significant part of her life, and she cherished the bonds she formed there. Her interests were simple and focused on the things that mattered most to her - her family and her home. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Betty Sue had a gift for making everyone feel special and loved, and her home was always open to friends and family. Betty Sue's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith. She was blessed to have known her great-grandchildren, Maverick Sutherlin, Mason Sutherlin, Lavender Lancaster, Finnley Sutherlin, and Salem Reynolds. Betty Sue is also survived by her sister-in-law, Trish Blades (Tom), and her aunts, Grace Bishop and Glenna Tucker. She was a beloved family member who was known for her warm heart and caring nature. Ralph Milburn Wetzel, 85, of Livermore, KY, passed peacefully at the Heartford House Sept. 2, 2023. Ralph was born on August 10, 1938 in Livermore, KY, the oldest of four children to Mary Evelyn Howard Wetzel and Roy Maurice Wetzel. Ralph graduated from St. Elmo High School in Illinois in 1956, where he met his high school sweetheart and wife of 66 years, Nancy Beth Sims. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and later the Army Reserve. Ralph and Nancy were members of Livermore United Methodist Church. Ralph worked for over 20 years at National Cash Register and US BancSource, later retiring from System Service Supply. Ralph felt and demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility. He was a founding father of the McLean Co. High School Football Program, Cougar Boosters, and a KHSAA football official. He was formerly a president of the Livermore-Island Chamber of Commerce, EMT with the county ambulance service, volunteer for the Livermore Fire Dept. , Livermore Constable, McLean County Deputy Jailer, and owned Gambles Hardware Store. Ralph was also passionate about restoring and flying airplanes, having achieved the rating of an Instrument Pilot. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Livermore Lions Club. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Galen Howard Wetzel. Survivors include his wife Nancy, brother Terrence Wayne Wetzel (Linda) of Island, KY and sister, Pamela Jean Daniell, of Griffin, GA. Ralph is also survived by his five children: Greg M. Wetzel (Wendy) of Warsaw, MO; Cheryl A. Coleman (Mike) Bardstown, KY; Tonya J. Logsdon (Mark) of Hillsboro, MO; Barbie G. Estes of Owensboro, KY; and Laurie Cattoor (Brent) of Owensboro, KY. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ralph was happiest when surrounded by his family. Memorial service will be at 6:00 p. m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p. m. at Funeral Home. Ralph requested that his remains be returned to the place of his birth, of his greatest childhood memories, and where his children were raised - the property affectionately known by the Wetzels as "the hill". In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Livermore Lions Club. Garland Ward, 82, of Livermore, Kentucky went home to the be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Garland was born on January 21, 1941 in Kimper, Kentucky, son of the late Drewie Ward and Jettie Sloan Ward. Garland was a former member of the Rio Grande Church of Christ and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Calhoun, Kentucky. He was a retired Coal Miner with the U. M. W. A. Garland is survived by his loving wife, of almost 64 years, Ezell Smith Ward, whom he married on August 22, 1959. This August they would have celebrated their 64th anniversary. In addition to his wife, He is survived by two daughters, Vonzell Ward Coley of Gallipolis Ohio and Tammy Ward Ring and her husband Paul Ring of Livermore, Kentucky; three living grandchildren, Laura Euton (Justin), Niki Conrad, (Justin Conrad), daughters of Tammy and Paul Ring; Eric Coley, son of Vonzell and Paul Coley and Jessica Conrad, who preceded her grandfather in death, daughter of Vonzell and Paul Coley; six great grandchildren, Kaydence Conrad, daughter of Niki, Gabby Brooks, daughter of Jessica, Rylee Jo Curtis, daughter of Laura, Sadie Conrad, daughter of Niki, and Katie Curtis, daughter of Laura; Harper Euton, daughter of Laura and Justin Euton; one brother James Ward, five sisters, Mae Robinson, Erma Charles, Geraldine Hunt, Yvonia Ward, and Rozetta Cox. Mickey was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey Earl and Ginger Faye Schindler Willis and the cherished sister of the late Debra Faye Willis and Nina Willis Bastin. She was also predeceased by her son, Thomas Conrad. In her lifetime, Mickey embraced the role of a homemaker, dedicating herself to the care and nurture of her family. She was a beacon of love, kindness, and warmth, filling her home with laughter, good food, and an abundance of love. Her home was a welcoming haven for all who knew her, reflecting her generous spirit and loving heart. Mickey had a zest for life and a passion for collecting shot glasses and snow globes. Each piece in her collection held a story, a memory, that she loved to share with her family and friends. She also enjoyed riding her golf cart around town, her jovial spirit spreading cheer wherever she went. Above all, Mickey cherished spending time with her family and friends, particularly her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. She was a member and co-founder of The Voice of the Lord Tabernacle. "Reesie" enjoyed being a pastor's wife, reading the Bible, and going to yard sales. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary Margaret Parks St. Clair.
