Funeral Services for Mr Melvin Wright will be held 1:00pm Monday, October 9, 2023 at JP Holley Funeral Home Northeast Chapel with burial to follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 1:00pm- 3:00 pm at our Bishopville Chapel Melvin "Beany" Wright, at 70 years of age, was born in Brooklyn, New York in Crown Heights He was the middle son of Susan Wright and Joe Grant has entered into eternal rest at his home on the morning of Tuesday, October 3, 2023 Beany, as he was lovingly nicknamed, attended Franklin K Lane High School, he was a member of the United States Army National Guard for a few years before he was employed at the Dunhill Food Equipment Corporation where he retired as a Sr Welder and Metal Tool smith for 35 years plus Beany was preceded in death by his elder brothers Gene A Wright, and Theodore Wright The activities and hobbies he enjoyed in his life were playing sports such as handball, baseball, paddleball and roller skate He also enjoyed playing chess, barbecuing, shooting pool, dancing, and enjoying the music from his record collection Cooking was a skill that he particularly loved to do over the years He loved sharing his joy of cooking for family gatherings and they always looked forward to his meals He had a warm heart and a spirit overflowing with positivity! He was so funny and animated, from his silly dances, to his humorous voice imitations and songs, he would make anyone that would listen laugh until their stomach hurt! We will hold onto that laughter and warmth forever in our hearts He is survived by his wife who spent 50 wonderful years with him, Janie Louise Wright; his loving sons: Melvin J Wactor (and his wife Jenna), Tony A Wactor, and his daughter Melba L Wright-Cooperman (and her husband Richard); grandsons: Ronin J Wactor, and Jeremiah; his granddaughters Janise M Span, Madison A Wactor- Kilkenny, and McKenzie J Wactor; his sister Susan T Muldrow; his brothers Keith Wright, and Wiley Wright (and his wife Tashia); his mother-in-law, Eartha Lee Wactor; brother-in-laws Jimmie Wactor (and his wife Verne), and Warren; his sister-in-laws Eartha Wactor and Sandra Monroe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends To to the family or in memory of Melvin Wright, please
