Melissa Renee Meese, age 62, of Brownsville, PA passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, after a long and courageous health battle over the last several years. She was preceded in death by her parents George A. and Elizabeth Bakewell Meese. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting Melissa is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Beth) Meese, sister, Joyce Carnahan, brother,, Kevin (JoAnna) Meese; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park St. , Brownsville, PA on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 2 - 4 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Redstone Cemetery.

Ray'Shon Alan Walker, age 20, of Denbo, PA was called home by the Lord, passing peacefully in his sleep, on November 24, 2023. Ray'Shon was born on July 1, 2003 in Colorado Springs, CO, son of Antwone Forrest and Rae'Neille Walker Forrest. Ray'Shon graduated from Brownsville Area High School, June 3, 2022. He graduated from Fayette County Career Technical Institute, in Culinary Arts, May 19, 2022. He started at Bethany College on August 9, 2022. Ray'Shon love playing football with kids in the patch, going on vacation, swimming, PlayStation, watching any and all football. His favorite football team was the New York Jets. He also loved to cook and eat and eat. Ray'Shon was preceded in death by Darius Jennings; his great- great grandmother and his great grandmother, Geraldine Hughes and Maxine Walker Valentino. "John (Jack) Kingsley Larson Sr. , 88, of Brownsville, PA, passed away on November 11, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. John was born on March 31, 1935 in Nome, Alaska, the son of John E. and Amy (Marks) Larson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robie Murphy. John is survived by his wife, Patricia J. (Lenkey) Larson, children, John K. Larson, Jr. and Brenda, Aimee Murphy, Tami K. Cline and Rodney, Robin Staszko and Frank, Marcie Thomas and John Harvey and Becky, grandchildren, Zachary Larson, Ani Shroyer, Jacob and Jared Cline, Jacqueline Gilbreaith, Jillian Polsinelli and Jaden, Delaney and Camden Harvey, and 3 great grandchildren. Merle "Butch" Moody, of the Malden area, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 in the Emergency Room at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Merle was born on April 19, 1944, son of the late John Merle and Ella Louise (Bakewell) Moody. Butch was a 1962 graduate of Brownsville Area High School. He worked construction with Local #286 and #373 until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with friends. He was a member of The A. C. Club and the California Gun Club. Merle is survived by his wife, Patricia (Kapel) Moody; two daughters, Jaime Richardson (Jimmy) of Greenville, SC and Barbie Griffin (Tim) of Acworth, GA; three grandchildren, Jenna Gross (Danny) of Chapin, SC. Timothy Griffin and Eric Griffin, both of Acworth, GA; and a great granddaughter, Evelyn Gross of Chapin, SC. Savannah Marie (Martelli) Stimmell, age 33, of Brownsville, PA passed away on October 25, 2023, as the result of a tragic accident. Savannah was born on August 8, 1990, in Uniontown, PA, daughter of Richard Martelli, Jr. of Uniontown and Deborah Martelli of Brownsville. Savannah was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Gloria Villers; paternal grandmother, Loretta Martelli; and her boyfriend, Adam Carney, who also passed in the accident. She is survived and will be forever loved and missed by her father, Richard Martelli, Jr. and step-mother, Shannon; her mother, Deborah Martelli and her step-father, Fred Hager; daughters, Davina and Camille and their father, Randy Stimmell; Adam's daughter, Paisley Carney; brother, Justin Higman and wife Randi; sister, Marissa Higman; paternal grandfather, Richard Martelli, Sr. ; step- sisters, Terra Howell and Angela Howell; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Randy and Lisa Stimmell; sister-in-law, Andrea Stimmell and her boyfriend Albert Holp; nieces and nephews, Garrett, Levi, Morgan, Kenleigh, Kayleigh, Emma, Ayvah, and Delaney. Savannah is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Savannah graduated from CCAC with a BSNRN in Nursing and was employed by WVU Medicine at Ruby Hospital as a Case Manager. She was born on August 20th, 1936 in Brownsville, PA Daughter of the late George and Clara (Coatsworth) Lochinger. Lynn was an avid book reader, enjoyed watching movies, and loved working puzzles. Paul Douglas Chafin, 78, of Brownsville, PA, died Thursday, October 5, 2023. He was born Thursday, January 11, 1945, in Paintsville, KY a son of the late Albert and Lexie (Spaulding) Chafin. Paul was an avid fan of all sports. In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by siblings, Alleene Smith, Bob Chafin, Jean Thompson, Jack "Al" Chafin, and Lillmon (Ralph) Chafin.
