Melissa Sue Anderson of Berryville, Arkansas was born May 24, 1977, in Nashville, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Kathleen (Turley) Newell. Melissa passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, in Berryville, Arkansas, at the age of 45. Melissa enjoyed watching her daughter, Lexy, play sports, reading, gardening, cooking, and floating on the river with her dog, Otis. She always had a ready smile, especially for the neighborhood kids that loved going to her house to get candy. Melissa was a Christian who had a great love for her family. Melissa is survived by her daughter Lexy Anderson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; parents Jim and Kathy Newell of Springdale, Arkansas; brothers James Adam Anderson and wife Evelyn of Fontana, California, James Thomas Newell, Jr. of Rogers, Arkansas, and William LeRoy Newell and wife Angie of Gravette, Arkansas; sisters Angela Kay Youngblood and husband Joe Pat of Berryville, Arkansas, Acacia Dawn Backs and fiance Nathan James Neighbors of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nieces Hannah Gayle Youngblood and Addison Mae Backs both of Berryville, Arkansas, Shelby Nicole Keller of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lacey Marie Newell of Gainesville, Florida, and Lillian Grace Lee Newell of Gravette, Arkansas; nephews Garrett Thomas Anderson of Fontana, California, Lucas Dale Backs of Berryville, Arkansas, and Robert Thomas Parker Newell of Rogers, Arkansas; as well as many other family and friend who will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by one sister Carolyn Sadler and her maternal grandparents Herbert and Lena Mae Turley. Visitation will be from 1:00 p. m. till 3:00 p. m. , Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. The Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p. m. with Pastor Billy McCall officiating.
