Melisa "Missy" McGowan, 57, a native and resident of Dulac Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17th 2022. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Joseph "Don" McGowan. Her children; Jessica McGowan and Jonathan Verdin. Stepson; Dale McGowan. Grandchildren; Dathan Eschete, McKenna Verdin, Zack Pylate, Ra'Nydriah McGowan, Delijah McGowan, Samyriah McGowan, and Damoni McGowan. And mother; Alice Dean. Along with many many loving cousins, family, and friends. She was proceeded in death by her father Daniel Callahan and grand parents; Eunice Matherne, Ivy Dean, and Elma Dean. Missy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She was known to be head chef of the family and the life of the party anywhere she went. Missy went above and beyond to help anyone who needed a hand. If she wasn't in the kitchen cooking the best meals, you could definitely find her at her favorite truck stop. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 9am to 11am, with the memorial service to begin at 11am, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue.
