Megan Lee Sylva Shaw, 45 of Grafton passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was born in Morgantown on February 7, 1978, daughter of Janet Slaton Sylva and the late Ricky Sylva. Megan graduated from Grafton High School Class of 1996, and graduated from Fairmont State College, with a Registered Nurse Degree. She worked many years at Grafton City Hospital doing a job she enjoyed to do. Megan liked being in the outdoors, camping and hiking. She loved her two boys with her whole heart and loved her two cats; Ari, and Asher and her baby Jade. Megan had just completed her dream home. In addition to her mother Megan is survived by two special sons, Jaylon Shaw (Tori), and Rylan Sylva; previous husband, Jeremy Shaw, two brothers; Ricky J. Sylva Jr. (Michelle), Daniel R Sylva (Lanessa), three sisters; Jessica McMasters (Davey), Amber Sylva, and Kashia Sylva, numerous aunts. uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and one great niece. Marion Virginia (Pratt) McDaniel, 84 of Grafton, WV passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at The Laurels of University Park in Richmond, VA. She was born February 2, 1939 in Grafton, WV, daughter of the late Hosea Foster and Nellie Pearl Weaver Pratt. Marion graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1957. She was a homemaker. Marion was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church and the Taylor County Senior Center. Her hobbies were reading, spending time with her devoted caregiver, Vickie, and her "adopted granddaughter", Lorianne, petting her doggie and supporting the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Marion is survived by her two sons, Robert Mark McDaniel and wife Lydia, Bridgeport, Alan Kent McDaniel and wife Lisa, Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Erin McDaniel (Todd), Justin McDaniel (Emily) Zachary McDaniel (Kalah) and Caitlin McDaniel; three great grandchildren, Madison, Hayden and Rory; brother-in-law, Tom McDaniel (Virginia); several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert M McDaniel on August 4, 2010; two sisters, Dorothy Nestor, Juanita Ridenour; three brothers, Robert Pratt, Darrell Pratt and Richard Pratt. Carolyn Geraldine Sessions, 89 of Knottsville, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 8, 1933, in Grafton, daughter of the late Charles Harter and Corda Laduska Albridge Arnold. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Jay" Burton Sessions on January 26, 2022. Carolyn graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1952. She worked as a teacher's aide working in Taylor County and retiring from the Board of Education in Florida working with children with disabilities. She would read her bible every day and do word searches. She enjoyed talking on the phone, and she loved her family time and gatherings. Carolyn is survived by one daughter, Candi Bradley (Mark); four grandchildren, Kristy Sessions, Tyler Magee, Jared Bradley (Valarie), Chelsey Clutter (Zach); six great grandchildren, Kyle, Lexi, Audrey, Liam, Zander and Caroline; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by one daughter, Jaye Ann Sessions; four sisters, Helen Moore, Mary Bunner, Frankie McDaniel, and June Satterfield; two brothers, Robert Arnold and Jimmy Arnold. Irving "Dale" Delbert Watkins 81, of Knottsville, passed away Friday, November 3 at United Hospital Center with his loving family by his side. He was born January 12, 1942 in Independence, a son of the late Lonnie & Josephine Collins Watkins. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Newlon) Watkins having spent 58 years together. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary on November 28th Dale enjoyed shooting pool at Jerry's Restaurant with his son Rusty, his brother-in-law Jerry and "the guys"; spending many weekends playing games of 1 pocket and 8 ball, he loved fishing, hunting and riding four wheelers as well as spending time with his family telling stories and arguing. Dale was a lifelong fan of the WVU Mountaineers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and loved watching college and professional football, basketball and baseball and westerns, all at full volume. He enjoyed grilling for his family on summer holidays and always cooked breakfast for the whole family on Christmas Day. He was employed at Superior Fibers in Reedsville for over 40 years. He is survived by his sons Russell "Rusty" Watkins and wife, Bobbie, Kenneth "Kenny" Watkins and his niece Eva Jo Watkins whom he considered a daughter. Eight grandchildren, Jacqueline Cady and David, Derek Watkins and Samantha, Ryan Watkins and Josi, Brandy Johnston and Zachary, James Watkins and April, Kendra Watkins and companion Nathanial Michael, Jeremiah Watkins, Cassie Watkins. Thirteen great-grandchildren Alan, Sophie, Jeremy, Evelyn, Millie, Chase, Madison, Katlyn, Jason, Hailie, Savana, Jonathon and Connor, two sisters Juanita Wyatt and Wilma Larew, one brother Paul "Ershell" Watkins and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Dale was proceeded in death by his beloved sons, Kevin Roy Watkins on January 25, 2010 and James Wesley "Jimmy" Watkins on April 8, 2020 and his best friend and brother Ralph "Waldo" Watkins, as well as his daughter-in-law Patsy "Patty" Rumker. Three brothers Lonnie Watkins, Manfred "Jake" Watkins and Gene Watkins and four sisters Shirley Weaver, Minnie Jenkins, Betty List and Mary Auvil. Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. , Grafton on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and on Tuesday November 7, 2023 from 9:00AM until the hour of the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor David Jones officiating.
