Mary Jane was born on October 27, 1935 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Richard and Francis (Garcia) Ramirez. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brothers Ysmael Ramirez, Roque Ramirez, Rudy Ramirez and Johnny Ramirez. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Ben Soto, her sister, Ruth Alvarado, and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City, Texas. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin, Texas. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of New Haven Assisted Living & Memory Care of Schertz and especially to her caregiver, Mary Sepeda, for the exceptional care Mary Jane received.

Kevin Michael “Mike” Tierney, age 80, of Universal City, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. He was born January 29, 1943 to Michael Joseph Tierney and Alice Brogan Tierney in Bronx, New York. Mike was stationed at Fort Sam Houston as a helicopter mechanic and honorably discharged from there. He continued a long career in sales for companies including Westinghouse, Dr. Pepper Company, Lone Star Brewery and finally Promised Land Dairy as a manager. Right around retirement, he decided to go back and work as a beloved bus driver for the Judson District and Comal County. His greatest passion was fishing down in Port Aransas, Texas. He also enjoyed golfing at the surrounding courses here in San Antonio. He loved all of his pets dearly and in the later years spent his time with his fur babies, Harry and Yoda. He loved Facebooking and keeping the family ties together and updated. Kevin “Mike” was a family man and cherished his entire family with all his heart. He lived his life on his terms and stood tall for what he believed in. He was loved dearly by his wife and family and adored by many. He is gone but will never be forgotten. Born and raised in the Bronx of New York but became a true Texan. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Felicia Valdez Tierney; sons, Michael Peter Tierney and his wife, Michele Schad Tierney, Patrick Joseph Tierney; daughter, Lisa Alice Throneberry; five grandchildren, Ryan James Throneberry, Danielle Elise Throneberry, Hunter Ethan Tierney, McKalyn Charlize Tierney, Maddox Cole Tierney. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to American Heart Association and COPD Foundation, as well as ASPCA. The family would like to give special thanks to their extended family and friends for their support, thoughts and prayers. He is survived by his mother Shirley Johnson; daughter and son-in-law Jaime and Ryan Lapland; sons Stephen Johnson and Michael Childs; siblings Ann Gustavson, Mary Vargas, and Joseph Johnson; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 aunts; and numerous nieces and nephews; and dog and best friend that he rescued, Ginger. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Johnson; his duck, Jaws; and his special dog, Ziggy, who once saved his life.Born in Lansing, Michigan, July 2, 1957, Michael was raised in Bellevue, Michigan before moving to Texas as an adult. Mike loved family and life, always had a smile on his face even during difficult times. He enjoyed collecting and listening to music, hunting, and fishing.Through the years he faced many health issues and beat the odds, until his final challenge. Michael’s family and friends are heartbroken that he is gone but find comfort in the knowledge that they will see him again someday.A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday January 30, 2024, at 911 Horseshoe Trail, Universal City, TX from 12 to 6pm.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Martha Vasquez-Guerra, and her Step Father, Rene Guerra. She is survived by her father, Ramon Corona Jr, her husband, Gilberto Soliz Sr, her children Roxanne Soliz, Gilbert Soliz Jr, Benita Hernandez, Demetrio Soliz, and Ramon Soliz. 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, with a second on the way. Her sisters Marie Corona, Kristina Montes, Marty Maldonado, and Margie Guerra. Her brothers Arturo Corona, Ramon Corona III, Rogelio Corona, Marco Antonio Corona with numerous nephews/nieces.She was a kind soul, who had love for all. She made everyone feel as if they were family and never pulled away to lend a helping hand and always made time to talk to those who needed a friend. She was always positive and supported with all, never held judgement towards anyone. Norma had a love for music from Soft Rock to Tejano to Rock and Roll. She was a hard worker and only took days off to show support to her grandchildren. Her love for her family shows in her children and taught them that forgiveness is letting go of grudges and bitterness can make way for improved health and peace of mind. It is important for emotional well-being, restoring relationships, and personal growth. She was brave, funny, empathetic, and compassionate to everyone she met. Norma's beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30th, at Puentes & Sons Funeral Chapels, 14315 Judson Rd San Antonio, TX 78233. 3-4pm for immediate family, 4-8pm for family and friends.

Kenneth James (Kenny) Romano, born at Fort Hood, Texas in 1965, passed away at 58 years old Sunday, January 7th 2024 at his home in Universal City, Texas. He was a beloved father and grandfather who owned his own contracting business, specializing in home remodeling. Kenny was an avid fisherman and a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan. Kenny passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family while watching his beloved Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Anthony Romano, Sr. and Nancy Sue Parks. Kenny is survived by his three children and two grandchildren whom he loved dearly. These Include his son Edward Anthony Munro. His daughters Jessica Romano, Jeannine Johns- Romano, and their mother Jennifer Romano. Grandson Kenneth Joseph Hudson and his father Randall William Hudson Jr. Granddaughter Magdalyna Wishard-Munro and her brother Mathew Bulloch. Also surviving are sister Geri Ann Saville Nicholson, brothers Michael Anthony Romano and Thomas Pietro Romano as well as numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life, which the family will announce with the date, time, and location once it is scheduled
