Maurice "Mo" Harbert, 76, passed away April 22, 2019. He was born July 13, 1942 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Byron Ray and Hettie Louise (Van Ness) Harbert. "Mo" married Janice Mae Tilson, December 29, 1962 in Rocklane Christian Church. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from Purdue University, his Master's Degree from Indiana State University and his Real Estate Broker's License in 1967. "Mo" was the Broker/Owner of REALTY WORLD-Harbert Company, Inc. in Greenwood. He was a member of Rocklane Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Boy Scout Troop 210 Treasurer and served on the Vision Ministry Team. Prior to becoming a member of Rocklane Christian Church, he was a member of Greenwood Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Fellowship and Activities Ministry Team Member, Scouting Sub ministry Team Leader, Chairman of Scouting of Pack 264/Troop 264 and Scoutmaster of Troop 264 for 18 years. "Mo" was a member of Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors, the Indiana Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors. He was an Accredited Buyer Representative, Council Residential Specialist, Certified Residential Broker, Certified Residential Specialist, Real Estate Cyberspace Specialist, Realty World Buyer Agent, Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative and Five Star Professional. "Mo" received his rank of Eagle Scout in 1956. His dedication to scouting knew no bounds. He was a Life Member of the National Association of Eagle Scouts, past Council Properties Committee member and Finance Chairman of the Pathfinder District. "Mo" served on the Governor's Luncheon Scouting Committee, the Gathering of Eagles Committee, and the Greenwood Mayor's Breakfast for Scouting Committee, where he received the Distinguished Citizen Award in 2013. Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rocklane Christian Church, 4430 Rocklane Rd., Greenwood with funeral services there Saturday at 1:00 p.m. "Mo" is survived by his loving wife, Janice M. Harbert; children, Gary Dean Harbert (Julia), Robin Lynn Grothaus (Jeff), Gregory Andrew Harbert (Kimberly), Brent Anthony Harbert (Christina) and Brian Christopher Harbert (Amanda); grandchildren, Roberto Salazar, Antonio, Erin, Chad, Cameron, Owen and Cooper Harbert; and sister, Faye Harris (Terry).
