Maureen Nicoletti, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully. Known for her loving, kind, and thoughtful nature, Maureen was born on July 24, 1944, in Yonkers, NY, and lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to her family. Maureen was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. She was a graduate of Yonkers High School, class of 1962. Her strong work ethic was evident in her role as a housekeeper at the Marriott Hotel, where she diligently served for many years. Despite the demands of her job, Maureen never let it come in the way of her primary role as a devoted mother to her two sons. Her family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her loving sons, Joseph Nicoletti and his wife, Stephanie, of Stamford, CT, and Rocco Nicoletti of Wilton, CT. Maureen was a loving grandmother to Ava, Emma, and Jack Nicoletti, who brought immense smiles, joy and laughter into her life. Her siblings, Arthur Shear and his wife, Valerie, of Florida, and Kathleen Culos and her husband, Tom, of Florida, will remember her fondly as a caring sister who always had a huge heart and compassionate nature. More than anything, Maureen was known to have a great memory, never forgetting a birthday or significant event in the lives of her friends, family, and extended family. Her thoughtfulness extended beyond her immediate circle as she always found ways to brighten someone's day, either with a kind word or a thoughtful gesture. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Thursday September 14, 2023 from 3:00-7:00 PM. A religious service will be held at 6:15 PM at the funeral home.

Brother James Aquinas van Koolbergen passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 85. Brother van Koolbergen was born on December 17, 1937, in Teaneck , NJ, the son of James and Elsie Mihavetz van Koolbergen. Brother attended St. Andrew Elementary School and St. Cecilia High School in New Jersey. He studied at Iona College where he received a BA degree in Classical Language and his MA from SUNY Albany in Education Administration. Brother van Koolbergen entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers on July 2, 1956, and professed his final vows on June 27, 1963. Brother's ministry took him to several schools including St. Cecilia's Grammar School in East Harlem, Bishop Gibbons High School, Schenectady, where he served as Principal, Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, Bergen Catholic High School, Iona Prep, New Rochelle, Tampa Catholic High School, and Trinity Catholic High School, Ocala. Brother was most recently a member of the Brothers' community at St. Joseph's Residence, New Rochelle. Brother van Koolbergen is survived by his cousins Peggy (Walt), Kathie (Danny) and Butch, as well as nephews Joe (Susan), Steve (Allyson), Tom (Darleen), Jerry (Phil), Martin (Sanford), and his nieces Ginny, Susan (Peter) and Francine (Daniel) and many grandnieces and grandnephews. The family and the Christian Brothers will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Sunday, October 1, from 2:00 PM to 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, NY, on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 10:30 a. m. Interment will be at the Christian Brothers' Cemetery in West Park, NY. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Myra Patricia Kirby on September 23, 2023. Myra passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family after a courageous 16-month battle with colon cancer. Born in Quito, Ecuador on July 23, 1960, Myra's vibrant spirit and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. Myra met her loving husband Tim in the Fall of 2001, they married a year later in November of 2002, and they welcomed their cherished daughter, Caroline, into their lives in February 2005. She was a devoted mother to Caroline and together they forged an unbreakable bond of love and understanding. Myra was warmly welcomed into the Kirby family. Carin, George, Linda, Bob, and the large extended Kirby clan embraced Myra with open arms, highlighting the beauty of family, both born and chosen. Myra pursued her higher education at Brooklyn College and had a fulfilling career in finance working at Dean Witter, Morgan Stanley, and Hedge Funds. But above all, her family, especially Caroline, and her friends were her true treasures. She was a lifelong Catholic, a 20-year parishioner of Resurrection Church, and enjoyed spending time in Monsignor Boyle's Garden praying with her family and dogs. She had a deep love for animals and cherished her beloved pets Nino, Rocky, Wendy, Maggie, Coco, and Sammi. Myra was predeceased by her parents, Marcy and Edward. Myra is survived by her husband Tim, daughter, Caroline, her siblings, Janet DeRosa, Edward Rivadeneira (Anna), Jaqueline Mascolo (Richard), and nieces and nephews Alexa, Julia, Jessica, Dominic, Sarah, Olivia, Morgan, Charlotte, George, and Michael. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Phyllis Kearney Dunn (September 4, 1942 - September 8, 2023), a long-time resident of Rye, NY, loving wife of Robert J. Dunn, proud mother of four boys, and loving grandmother of four boys. Phyllis passed away peacefully surrounded by her family just four days after her 81st birthday. Born in Newburgh, NY, Phyllis was a competitive tennis player, swimmer, and golfer at the Powelton Club in Newburgh. Phyllis graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart with a major in Psychology. Family and friends were making plans to celebrate Phyllis and Bob's 60th wedding anniversary next summer in Sea Girt, NJ, where they met during their college years, became best friends, and fell in love. Phyllis and Bob married in the summer of '64 and eventually moved to Rye, NY, to raise their four sons. They joined The Apawamis Club in 1967 and made many lifelong friends. Phyllis taught at a private school in Fairfax, VA, while Bob was stationed with the Army Strategic Communications Command HQ in Washington, DC. Their first son, Robert J. Dunn III, was born at Walter Reed Army Hospital. The bill for the entire procedure was $17. 75 or, as Phyllis liked to say, "about $2. 24 a pound. " She was an avid reader and spent hours creating beautiful gardens and flower beds at their home on Osborn Road in Rye. Phyllis was devoted to her faith and family. She loved singing in the choir at St. Catharine's Church in Pelham, taught CCD at St. Catharine's and Resurrection Church in Rye, and was a loyal volunteer for more than 20 years at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, NY. Rosary Hills' mission is to provide loving palliative care to those suffering from terminal cancer. Phyllis loved life, her family, and the many close friends who loved her. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Matthew of Delray Beach, FL, who passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer in 2021. Phyllis is survived by her husband Bob and their sons Robert (Susan) Dunn of Long Beach Island, NJ, James Dunn, Port Chester, NY, and Kevin (Peggy) Dunn of Long Beach, NY, and Ally Dunn of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; four grandsons Bobby, Jack, Kevin, and Joseph; her sister, Ellen Kearney of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and daughters, Katherine, Kristina, and Elisabeth; her brother-in-law, Bill (Chris) Dunn; her sister-in-law, Betsy (Lawton) Thomas, and daughters Nora, Theresa, and Marie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Peter F. Bannan at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY, on September 16 at 10:00 a. m. Interment will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, followed by a reception at The Apawamis Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rosary Hill Home, Hawthorne, NY.Show more
