Janith Ann Smith, age 77, of West Blocton, Alabama passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Janith was born on September 4, 1946 to the late Andrew and Nellie Shaw. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in West Blocton. She was known for her great cooking and loved spending time with family as much as possible, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Smith; and her sister, Janell Farley.
Janith is survived by her sisters, Juanita Pinkard, Lou Andra Gardner and Carla Dean Shaw; children, Dale West (Jacki), Lou Belcher (Tommy), Melissa Jones (Mike), Michael Smith (Doyle), Shawn Smith (Lynn), Donna Smith; grandchildren, Jarryd Seagle, Drew West, Ashley Smith, Branden West, Clayton Jones, Brandy Smith, Katlyn Smith, Josh Smith; great-grandchildren, Stella West, Stetson Smith, Oakley Creel; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Duke.
A visitation for Janith will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Rd, Centreville, Alabama 35042. Following the visitation will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Blocton, Alabama.
Pallbearers are Branden West, Steve Johnson, Jim West, Brian Lemley, Shawn Smith, Brantley Carver, and Shane Valdes.
