Mattie Dixon Keener - age 87 of Lenoir City passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at her home. Mattie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Mattie worked for Lay's Five & Dime, H&R Block, and volunteered at Loudon and Parkwest Hospitals. Mattie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wendell Erwin Keener; daughter, Deborah Keener Mashburn; parents, Thomas and Mary Dixon; siblings: Joe, Elmer John, Ruth, Charles, and T. C. Dixon, Margaret Shudan, Nell Beeler and Sue Bass. Survived by her daughter and sons-in-law, Patricia and Jackie Lawson, Tony Mashburn; grandchildren: Mindy McIlquham (T. J. ), Dusty Lawson (Deirdre), Tyler Mashburn (Amber), Tanner Mashburn (Brittany); great grandchildren: Madison Graves, Noah Graves, MacKenna Lawson, Kylie Lawson, Jaxen Mashburn, Savannah Mashburn, Shelby Mashburn, Landon Mashburn and Alana Mashburn; brother Randall Dixon (Gloria);many nieces and nephews; special friends Cherry Flannery and Eddie Williams. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p. m. Thursday, October 12th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 3 p. m. with Rev. Eddie Click and Rev. Dusty Lawson officiating. Family and friends will then proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P O Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

Rachel Elizabeth Greer, age 42, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, peacefully passed away Sunday, November 26th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Rachel was a dedicated elementary school teacher of 12 years, who always went above and beyond for her students. Rachel received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Toledo, and a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Marygrove College. Her hard work was recognized by Eaton Elementary School as she was selected as teacher of the year for the 2022-2023 school year. Rachel's excitement and love for life were unmatched. She loved traveling, scrapbooking, baking, puzzles, and Harry Potter. One of her biggest passions was for all things Disney. She and her family made countless trips to Disneyworld, and even one to Disneyland. Rachel was always up for an adventure, and she never found a board game that she couldn't master. To know Rachel was to love her deeply. Her smile and personality were always the brightest in the room and she made everyone around her happier. Rachel had a way of turning friends into family. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, but above all else, she was the most amazing wife and mother. Rachel was a faithful member of the Lenoir City Church of Christ where she worshipped among many brothers and sisters in Christ who loved her immensely. Rachel is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her father-in-law, David Greer. She is survived by her loving husband, Ryan, her precious children, Alex (15) and Zoe (13), parents John and Diane Bartley, siblings, Amanda (Tim) Howe, Jonathan (Alyssa) Bartley, Kristen (Joe) Thoma, Alissa (George) Powell, Todd (Chelsea) Greer, mother-in-law, Joan Greer, and many nieces and nephews. Rachel will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29th from 5:30-9:00 at Click Funeral Home in Farragut, TN. The funeral will be held the following day, November 30th at 10:00am. Burial will be held privately. Leon Clement Baker, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, formerly of Maple Grove Township, died on November 22, 2023 at Riverview Rehab Nursing Facility in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 85. Leon was born on June 14, 1938, in New Lothrop. The son of Charles Baker Sr. and Gertrude Andres. After the 10th grade, Leon joined the United States Army, where he pridefully served his country for 20 years. He served as an infantryman and finished his career working in supply management. He loved to travel and see the world, experiencing all that the world had to offer him. He loved his hometown and spending time with family above all. He was known by his family and friends for his pure kindness. He would do anything for anyone who may have been in need. Leon also had a niche for American food, specifically pot roast, coffee and cookies. Leon is survived by his son, Leon (Yinru Yuan) Baker; daughters, Tena (Eric) Vansant and Theresa (Maureen) Baker; son, Paul Baker; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Graves) Baker (2020), brothers, Charles Baker Jr. , Eugene Baker, and Hilaire "Larry" Baker; and sister Delores Dunklee. A visitation will take place on November 27, 2023 from 2:00pm till 8:00 pm, with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm, at McGeehan Funeral Homes - New Lothrop Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on November 28, 2023, at 11:00am with visitation starting at 10:00am until the time of mass, at St Michaels Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Burial with military honors will follow at St Michaels Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, in honor of Leon.Show more
