Matthew Jennings Parker, 38, of Bushkill Township, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023. Born February 17, 1985, in Wilson Borough, Pa, he was a son of Edgar J. Parker and Judylee (Schall) Parker. He was a 2003 graduate of Easton Area High School where he played football his junior and senior years. Matthew served our country in the Air Force for four of years active duty and four years in the reserves. He was employed as a security guard for Victaulic, Forks Township, for 15 years and was a seasonal worker at Sky King. Matthew loved sports and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers, Penn State and Easton Red Rovers. He enjoyed hunting, watching TV series, and was a die-hard gamer. In addition to his parents, Edgar and Judy, he is survived by a brother, Derek Parker-Cabral and his husband Kurt, of Winter Garden, FL; paternal aunt, Loraine Russo and husband Joseph and daughter Jezannia, of Bethlehem, paternal uncle Forrest May of Germansville, PA, maternal aunts and uncles, Joyann Davis and husband Joseph, of Haines City ,FL, Arthur "Buddy" Schall and wife Karen, and R. Scott Schall and companion Katherine Staton, both of Bethlehem; many cousins: John Heater and his wife Rose, Billie Joe Rolen, Lorena Hacker, Kelly Jo Oslin, Corena Oslin, Kayla Roe, Joseph Davis, Alexis Davis-Montagna and husband Brent, Joshua Schall, Jenna Schall and fiancee Jess, Tara Schuler and fiance Salaam, Michael Schuler and fiance Angelika, Wendy Schall, Crystal Schall, Alicia Conklin and husband John and daughters Juliana and Johana and grandmother, Josephine Grasso. He was predeceased by his grandparents Edgar Jennings Parker, Sr. , and Thelma Marie Parker, Arthur Harvey and Anna Mabel Schall; aunts and uncles, Vera Bogush, Thelma May, Robert Parker, Teresa Rampulla and Richard Dobbin, and cousin Anthony Lee Rampulla. Diane M. Hocking, 78, of Easton, PA, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, in St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus. Born September 5, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Anthony J. Martinelli and Evelyn Jean Martinelli Stefcik and a stepdaughter of the late Andrew Stefcik. Diane was a graduate from Easton Area High School, Class of 1963. She was last employed by SCI Custom Kitchens, Easton and was also employed by Wolf Distributing, Allentown and Magnetic Windings, Easton. Diane was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and traveling with friends. She was also a former member of Wilson Borough Republican Club. Surviving are three daughters, Tamara Hocking and her husband David Steltz, of Palmer Township, Lori Hocking-Zimmerman and her husband Bill, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and Kellee Frinzi, of CA; a sister, Susan Martinelli, of Palmer Township; three grandchildren, Zachary R. Hocking, Wm. Parker Zimmermann and Kayla Mieche; a great-granddaughter, Kylie, a nephew, Tom Keiper and a great-niece, Camrynn Keiper. Sueann Sacco, 79, of Easton, PA passed away on December 4, 2023 in her home. Born on August 3, 1944 in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Sue DiMarco. She graduated from Plainfield High School and later settled in South Plainfield. She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Sueann enjoyed lunch with her friends at Applebee's, watching the Eagles, and spending time with her family. Her favorite past times included playing Parcheesi and baking. Her specialties were cookies, pies and homemade pizza. She had a green thumb and loved to garden. Sueann is survived by her daughters, Deborah Sacco of Easton, PA; Christine Carney and her husband, Gregg Carney of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Elaine Albert of Buckeye, AZ; grandchildren, Samantha and Kaitlynn Carney. In addition to her parents, Sueann was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas J. Sacco. A gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 830 Fifth Avenue, Alpha, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, and "Cici", who left us far too soon. Colleen Van Natta, 65, of Forks Township, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at her home. Born August 19th, 1958, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late E. J. and Regina (Boyle) O'Brien. Colleen graduated from Notre Dame High School and Lycoming College. She and her husband, Jeffrey Van Natta celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on October 13th, 2023. She was a member of Northampton Country Club, NEA, and NJEA. Colleen's passion for the arts was evident from an early age. As a retired music teacher of 37 years from the Greenwich Township School District, she not only imparted knowledge but also inspired countless students with her love for music. Her dedication to nurturing young talents left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she taught. Colleen's love for musical theatre and singing brought joy to everyone around her. Her melodious voice echoed the beauty of her soul, creating cherished memories that will forever resonate with those fortunate enough to have shared in her love for music. Beyond her teaching and musical passions, Colleen's family was at the center of her world. A devoted mother and grandmother, she cherished the moments spent with her loved ones, especially her grandsons, Grayson and Beckham. As we mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman, let us remember Colleen for the joy she brought into our lives, the music she shared, and the love that will forever remain in our hearts. Colleen is survived by her husband Jeffrey, her son Erich, her daughter in law, Tatiana, her beloved grandsons, Grayson and Beckham, her two stepchildren, Christopher and Lauren, and her brother Jim and his family. Stanley Wieteszka, 84, of Palmer Township, PA, formerly of Sinking Springs, PA and Wallington, NJ, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at his home. Born August 14, 1939, in Mazury, Poland, he was a son of the late Franciszek and Emilia (Konefal) Wieteszka. He and his wife, Helen (Sadowski) Wieteszka, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 26, 2023. Stanley was a machinist, last working for Vac-U-Max, Belleville, NJ. Previously, he worked for Hewitt-Robins, Passaic, NJ. He enjoyed working on cars and making home improvements. Surviving in addition to his wife, Helen, are two daughters, Danuta Lynch and her husband John, and Barbara Wieteszka and her fiance Michael Metzger; a brother, Marian Wieteszka and his wife Jean and a sister, Anna Bijak and her husband Eddie; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Sara Lynch, Kyle and Nathaniel Tusa and a great-grandson, Waylon Dean. Jack A. Fischer, 76, of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania died Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital - Anderson in Easton, Pennsylvania. He was the loving husband of the late Maria Elizabeth (Schaefer) with whom he shared 53 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2021. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Arthur and Gloria Ackerman Fischer. Jack was proud of his work as an electrician and a member of Local 3 Union. He was full of life and could entertain with stories that lasted for days. He loved his wife until the day she died and for days thereafter. Jack adored his grandchildren and enjoyed every moment with them. He was one of the nicest people you could ever meet and was extremely generous. Jack is survived by his daughters: Jackie Pasquetti and her husband, Salvatore; Pennie Fischer; Christine Anderson and her husband, Tommy; grandchildren: Jack Fisher, Gino Pasquetti, Jaime Anderson; Conor Anderson; and beloved dog, Bianca. Matthew Dees

Matthew Dees, 64, a resident of West Easton, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, at his home. He is best remembered for his service to the community of West Easton Borough where he served as Council President 2020-2022, and State Constable 2022-2023. In 2022 he accepted the position of Council Pro Temp and served on various committees through the years. He built the website for the borough in 2016 seeing the need to provide an Internet presence, he wanted to provide residents access to basic public borough information more easily. Among the websites/blogs he built for private individuals over the years, he also created Glendon Borough's website. In 2021 Matthew won the first election for a West Easton Borough 2-year Council seat that began in 2016. He was re-elected to a 4-year seat that began in 2018 and again, for another 4-year term beginning in 2022. Outside his positions held in West Easton government, he also served on the Executive Board of his Union, TWU Local 282. His occupation included being a Colonial I. U. 20 driver for special need students, a website builder and entrepreneur. Matthew authored the relationship book, The Aphrodite Apocalypse, and wrote articles/blogs on topics of interest including collecting nostalgia items, food, the art of coffee and politics. Born February 25, 1959 at Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield, NJ; he was raised in Watchung, N. J. attending Watchung Hills Regional High School, then later relocated to Nevada attending Boulder City High School. An Honorable Veteran of the US Navy (1977-1982) of the Pacific Submarine Fleet, he served as a MT-3311 Missile Technician. His favorite Navy experience was when comedian Don Rickles, brought him on stage to participate in his Las Vegas act. Rickles sent complimentary champagne, picked up the tab, invited Matthew back stage, and gave him an autographed photo to bring back to his mates, which made the Boulder City News. A transplant from Nevada, Matthew moved to Pennsylvania in 1992. He purchased his West Easton home in 2012 and was an avid gardener, canning, pickling and creating tasty salsas. His appreciation for the outdoors included fishing, hunting and camping. Matthew received the Northampton County Outstanding Veteran Award in 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Q. (Arr Cue) Dees of Arkabutla, MS, and Teresa (DeLuca) Dees of Las Vegas, NV. Surviving is a his son, Shaun R. Dees, and his wife Sydney, of Arkabutla, MS; two daughters, Teresa Fox and her husband William, of Bangor, PA, and Marie Lynn Rich and her husband Josh, of Sarah, MS; three brothers Wayne T. Dees and his wife Suzanne Hart of Marquette, MI, L. Raymond Dees and his wife Diane, of Sparks, NV, and Daniel A. Thomas, of N. Carolina; two sisters, The Rev. Melanie Dees Campbell, of Marshall, MO, and Bonnie Anne Dees, of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, William and Rilynn Fox, Taylor Bell and Tyler Beth Rich; and a former wife, Janet Dees, of Arkabutla, MS. Dennis A. Hoops, 72, of Wilson Borough, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, in New Eastwood. Born October 27, 1951, in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Gus and Ruth (Jones) Hoops. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dennis was last employed as a cook at the former Brigg's Tavern. He was an avid Phillies fan, followed Easton football, enjoyed playing and teaching chess, playing Yahtzee, and playing quoits in a league at Amvets Post 17, Easton. Dennis was of the Lutheran faith. Surviving is his companion, Lisa M. Wesley E. "Wes" Beers, Sr. , 72, of West Easton, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at his home. Born November 10, 1951, in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Carl E. and Rose (Johnson) Beers. He and his wife, Elizabeth S. (Tomsky) Beers, celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on November 4, 2023. Wes was a 1969 graduate of Easton Area High School where he played football and pole vaulted. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was last employed by Home Depot from 1999-2023 working in Whitehall and Palmer Township. Prior to that, he worked at the former Bethlehem Steel for 30 years. Wes was a life member of Safety First Volunteer Fire Company and other various social clubs. He was a proud firefighter and honored for 45 years of dedicated service and commitment to the West Easton Fire Co. No. 1, serving from 1974-2019 and as captain from 1982-1996. Years ago, Wes enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and going to casinos. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by a daughter, Holly Tirrell, of Easton; a son, Wesley E. Beers, Jr. , of West Easton; two brothers, Donald Beers, of Easton, and William Beers and his wife Anna, of Bethlehem Township; five grandchildren, Sasha, Jayde, Emma, Ayden and Owen; a great-granddaughter, Sophia; many nieces and nephews.
