MaryAnn Cardaropoli, 93, of Wilbraham, entered into eternal rest on October 3, 2023, with her loving family and friends by her side She was born on July 6, 1930 to the late Daniel and Anna (Rinaldi) Flora MaryAnn grew up in Springfield and graduated from Commerce High School She was retired from DeCaro Bros Landscaping where she worked for more than 30 years MaryAnn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother MaryAnn was also an avid bowler and bingo player who loved her trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods She was spunky, witty, and best known for being a loyal fan to the New York Yankees MaryAnn was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Cardaropoli, who passed away in 1994 She will be deeply missed by her children, AnnMarie Alexander and her husband Peter of Wilbraham; her son, Daniel J Cardaropoli and his wife, Cathy and her beloved grandson, Michael, of Morrisville, North Carolina She also leaves behind her special cousins, Elizabeth "Patty" Hill of West Springfield and Felicia McIntosh of Springfield Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 5 - 8 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker Street, Springfield Burial will be in St Michael's Cemetery, State Street, Springfield, MA In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in MaryAnn's memory to the Alzheimer's Association - MA/NH Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks Road Waltham, MA 02452 For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www forastiere com

His roots ran deep in the community, and his magnetic personality drew people towards him effortlessly. A passionate soul, Josh found joy in simple pleasures--cooking with gusto, embracing the great outdoors through camping, and relishing every moment surrounded by nature's beauty. Josh's unique charisma illuminated every gathering he attended. His infectious laughter and genuine warmth had the power to uplift spirits and create lasting memories, making any occasion brighter with his presence. Known for his selflessness, he was ever-ready to lend a helping hand, touching countless lives with his generosity and unwavering support. Stanley Halama, 83, passed away December 5, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 10, 1940 in Wola Zelichowska, Poland to the late Joseph and Helen (Wrona) Halama. Stanley came to the United States in 1961 and settled in Indian Orchard where he raised his family. He was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church. Stanley retired after 42 years from Smith & Wesson. An all-around handyman, he was capable of fixing just about anything and was always available for family and friends to help with repairs of any kind. He took great pride in maintaining his home and yard. Above all, Stanley was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His granddaughters will especially miss their dziadziu making the best grilled cheese sandwiches for them. Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 58 years, Janina (Socha) Halama; his cherished daughter, Theresa Miner of Chicopee; his adoring granddaughters, Julie and Natalie Miner; his brother, Alfred Halama and his partner Helen Bednarz of Florida; and his sisters-in-law, Sophie Sedzikowski and her husband Frank and Mary Halama. He also leaves his nieces and nephews: Daniel Sedzikowski, Ursula Blair (Matt), Diane Lisowski (Jon), John Halama, Mark Halama, and Krysia Halama, along with many other family members and friends. Stanley was predeceased by his parents; his infant daughter Mary B. Halama; a brother, Richard Halama; 2 nephews Adam Sedzikowski and Frankie Halama; his son-in-law Dean Miner and a sister-in-law Cecelia Halama. Margaret "Peg" (Carney) Kane, 93, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023. She was born in Springfield on April 5, 1930, to Maurice and Bridget (Daley) Carney. Peg graduated from Cathedral High School in 1947 and worked in several positions before retiring from her career as a paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools. In 1951, Peg married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Gerald "Brud/Jerry" J. Kane, with whom she was absolutely smitten. Together they made a life she loved raising a family in Springfield, retiring to a home they had built on Drake's Island in Maine, and later returning to Wilbraham, MA, where they were surrounded by family. Peg and Brud loved to travel and had many adventures that took them across the globe. The locations that meant the most to her were the Great Blasket Island and Slea Head in southwest Ireland, the area from which her parents emigrated. Peg and Jerry loved the beach whether it was in Maine, Florida, or Massachusetts. She loved children and would often boast about her own large family. She was known for her cooking, there was rarely a night without a homemade dessert in her home, and many favorite recipes will live on through her family. Peg is predeceased by her beloved husband, Brud; her parents, Maurice and Bridget Carney; brothers, Maurice and John; sisters, Mary (O'Keefe), Patricia, Nancy (Shea), and Joan; brothers-in-law, William O'Keefe, Charles Dusel, Edwin Shea; sister-in-law Beverly Kane (Ferris), and her husband Tim. Peg is survived by her six children Nancy LaBrie and husband Robert of Springfield; Gerald Kane, Jr. and wife Deborah of Springfield; Mary Campbell and husband Trant of East Longmeadow; James Kane and wife Jean of Longmeadow; Brian Kane of East Longmeadow; and Margaret Assad and husband Joseph of Holyoke. She leaves behind her 10 cherished grandchildren, John LaBrie (Cheryl), Kevin LaBrie (Maria), Thirza Lareau (Craig), Gerald Kane III (Cynthia), Stephen LaBrie (Nicole), Maggie Pereiras (Keith), Christina Kane (Mani), Joseph Assad (Jennifer), Brian Kane (Kitty), and Mary-Leah Messenger (Brian). Peg was "Gigi" to 22 great-grandchildren, a number for which she was extremely proud. She is also survived by her two sisters, Eileen Dusel of Ludlow, and Barbara Ashe and her husband Michael of Enfield, CT. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Francis Murray and his assistant Liz, personal care assistant Tracey, and the staff of East Village Place and Brookhaven Hospice for their dedication to her care. Patricia E. (Murphy) Byrne, 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Born in Somerville, MA, daughter of the late Michael A. and Marie E. (Sullivan) Murphy, she was a 1948 graduate of Medford High School. Patricia worked as a service representative for Nynex for twenty-two years, retiring in 1988. She was a self taught artist painting with oils as well as applying her talents to create beautiful antiqued ceramic Santa's. She volunteered for many years at Storrowton Village applying her artistic talents to decorating and coordinating Yule Tide as well as running the Look Back program for local students. She was a former communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church where she was a eucharistic minister, taught confraternity of christian doctrine classes and volunteered at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam. Patricia's family would like to offer a special thank you to Jewish Geriatric Services and hospice for their love and care. Her husband, Paul J. Byrne died in 2009. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert Murphy, Fred Murphy and a sister, Marion Murphy. She leaves five sons, Paul J. Byrne of Westfield, Michael E. Byrne of Indian Orchard, Dr. Timothy J. John F. Friberg, 67, passed away December 5, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 5, 1956 in Springfield, MA to the late Robert and Lillian (Hazlett) Friberg, he grew up in Springfield and was a 1974 graduate of Tech High School. For the past 22 years, he had resided in Belchertown. John's career spanned 38 years with the Springfield Fire Department. He had many years of specialized training, including courses at Texas A&M, which led to distinguished roles on the Rescue Squad and as a Lieutenant on the Arson and Bomb Squad. His dedication earned him the love and respect of his fellow firefighters, forming a tight-knit brotherhood that stood as a testament to his character. After retiring from the department, John took on the role of building manager for the Newman Catholic Center at UMass. He was a member of the former Indian Orchard Lodge of Masons and the Shriners Lodge of Springfield. John and his family enjoyed summer weekends RV camping at Greenwood Hills Campground in Rhode Island where he served on the Board of Directors for 10 years. John leaves his wife of 47 years, Elaine (DeRouin) Friberg; his sons, John Friberg, Jr. and his wife Kiersten of Belchertown and Jeffrey Friberg and his partner Jade of Worcester; his sister, Susan Boucher and her husband Joel of Hampden; and his grandchildren, Brianna, Eleanor, Ella, and John Friberg III. He also leaves his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Beth and Robert Vanzandt of Belchertown, Catherine Vander Vliet of Ohio, Richard and Jeanne DeRouin of Easthampton, and Richard Davey of Pennsylvania, along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. Besides his parents, he was sadly predeceased by his sister Sandra Davey on December 1, 2023. A Celebration of John's Life will be planned at a later date.
