She is survived by her children, Dennis (Emily) Williams, Frontenac, MO and Deborah (Randy) Waymire, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, Madison (Cody) Honea, Abigail (Austin) Currie, Brayden Williams, Liberty Waymire, and Stella Williams; and great-grandchildren, Graham and Lynnden. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James T. Williams; two brothers, Michael and David Harmon; and one grandson, Anthony Williams. Barbara J. Schoelhamer was born in De Soto on March 30, 1949 a daughter to Charles and Edna (nee Hawkins) Boyer. She died on November 22, 2023 at St. Louis University Hospital at the age of 74. Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Christopher Schoelhamer, Warrenton; 4 children, Christina (Chris) Cosgrove, Brian Schoelhamer, Jason Schoelhamer, and Mandy Schoelhamer; one brother Charles E. "Bill" (Mona) Denny; grandchildren: Justin (Meghan), Evan, Dylan, Zachary, Michael, Emmalee, Aaliyah, Hali, and Trevor; 3 great-grandchildren: Stella, Nora, and Josephine; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Larry D. Denny and Oscar P. (Verta) Denny. Barbara retired as an LPN. She then worked for SAS (San Antonio Shoe) and the Agape Thrift Store where everyone became her friend. Barb loved her St. Louis Cardinals, Jeopardy, and spending time with her family and animals. Earl Boyer

Earl J. Boyer was born in De Soto on May 28, 1946 a son to Della and Ella (nee Courtaway) Boyer. He died on November 22, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 77. Earl served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had retired as an inspector from the Chrysler Auto Manufacturing Plant in Fenton after 34 years of service and was a member of U. A. W Local #136. In his retirement he enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of B. P. O. E. #689, AmVets Post #48, American Legion Post #416 and a Gold Legacy Life member of V. F. W. Post #1831. Earl held many Local, District, State and National Offices for the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and was awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Joyce (nee Filkins) Boyer, De Soto; one daughter Nicole (Larry) Pennock, De Soto; two grandsons: Carter Pennock and Clinton Pennock; two sisters: Lena Wicker, De Soto and Barbara (Jerry) Coleman, Hematite; two brothers: Danny "Sock" (Judy) Boyer, De Soto and Gerald (Kay Kite) Boyer, De Soto a sister in law Judy Filkins Boyer and several nieces and nephews. Mildred Sloan Hardin was born on February 22, 1927 in De Soto, MO. She was the daughter of Oliver "Spot" & Golda (nee Kobel) Oker. She died on November 12, 2023 at Hillcrest Care Center at the age of 96. She is survived by her sons, Steve (Carolyn) Sloan of De Soto, David (Rachell) Sloan of South County, and Mark Sloan of De Soto; one brother, Robert Oker of St. Louis; grandchildren, Chad (Karen Mooney) Sloan, Jamie (Dewayne Smith) Sloan, Derrick Sloan, Phillip (Sonja) Sloan, Samantha Sloan, and Sarah (Chris) Taylor; and great grandchildren, Zachary Sloan, Logan (Lyssa) Sloan, Nate Sloan, Jackson Taylor, Iris Taylor, Emma Taylor and Rose Taylor. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Sam Sloan and Vernon Hardin; two sisters, Betty Young and Janet Pinson, and one, brother, George Oker. Mildred served the De Soto, Richwoods and Good Shepherd School Districts as a substitute teacher and spent many years as the organist for the Trinity Episcopal Church. She is survived by her daughters Brittany Brewer, Cedar Hill and DeAnna (Michelle) Rosaa, House Springs; seven grandchildren: Mason Schenk, Nicholas Allen, Jr. , Coltin Brown, Daniel Rosaa, Sophia Rosaa, Eleanor Rosaa and Hayden Eckstein and her brother Robert (Debra) Gibson, Hillsboro. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Daniel Lee "Beaver" Voyles and her daughter Jessica Eckstein. Kathy spent her whole working career, over forty years, working for the Public Water Supply District #8 and was currently serving as manager.Show more

Geneva Lee "Billie" Russell was born in Brazil, MO in Washington County, MO on October 4, 1925 the day an older sister was married. She was known as Geneva to her side of the family and Billie to her husband's side of the family and local friends. Billie passed after a short stay at Hillcrest Nursing Center on October 31, 2023 at the age of 98 years 27 days. She was the daughter of Jefferson Riley and Bessie (nee Martin) Brakefield. Billie is survived by her children, Alvin (Nickolyn) Russell, Gary (Grace) Russell, and Judy (David) Eisenhauer, grandchildren, Karen (Shawn) Dement, Mark (Carrie) Russell, Lisa (Mark) Jordan, Stephen (Jeni) Russell, and Matt (Michelle) Eisenhauer; eight great-grandchildren; two close nieces, Donna Russell and Dorothy Russell and additional nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd C. Lindell Hoelzel

Lindell G. "Pete" Hoelzel was born in Melzo on June 26, 1931 a son to Helmuth Emil and Maude (nee Holdman) Hoelzel. He died on October 27, 2023 in Troy, IL at Cedarhurst of Troy at the age of 92. Pete served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a very proud member of Laborers' Local #110 for over 50 years and a Life Member of V. F. W. Post #6883. A St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan he also collected St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia. Pete spent countless hours in his gardens at his rural De Soto home and was known for the tomatoes he grew. An accomplished musician he enjoyed listening to music performed by Johnny Cash and Ernest Tubb. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Eugenia "Jean" (nee Aubuchon) Hoelzel, Troy, IL; a son Steven (Debbie) Hoelzel, Glen Carbon, IL and four nieces: Margie (Doug) Urban, Ballwin, Marilyn (Don) Hamilton, Bowling Green, Joy (Scott) Graves, De Soto and Jan (Stan) Fauth, De Soto and their families. Ellen married Ed Hanna on December 24, 1061 in Advance, MO he survives and resides in De Soto, MO; she is also survived by her daughter, Cindi (Jim) Maddock of Rock Hill, MO; son-in-law, Deane Schultz of Clarksville, TN; a sister, Mary (Bill) Lucas of Festus, MO; 2 grandchildren, Hanna and Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Teresa Schultz. Mrs. Hanna was a teacher at De Soto School District and also served as Assistant Principal at Vineland Elementary.
