Martin E. Miller

Feb 15, 1942 - Feb 09, 2024

location-icon

Middlefield, OH

Martin E. Miller of Windsor, Ohio, (age 81) walked into Heaven on February 9th, 2024 to meet Jesus face to face. Martin was born on February 15, 1942, to parents Eli J. A. Miller and Ida E. Miller (Mullet). As the eldest child of eight, Martin only attended formal schooling through the 8th grade. He chose to work on his parents’ farm with his father, and helped his mother with the younger children. Many years later he took on the challenge of studying for his G.E.D. and successfully completed it. On February 15, 1964, Martin married Esther Sue Gingerich in Burton, Ohio. They were introduced by “Aunt Barb”, who successfully played matchmaker with her nephew and a favorite co-worker. In spite of the best of intentions that “no woman would ever wear high heels in his car”, Esther not only wore them in his car, but also down the aisle to marry her best friend. Martin and Esther were married one week short of 60 years. They attended Eagleville Bible Church in Rock Creek, OH. To everyone who knew Martin, he was a man of integrity, honesty, and lived his faith every single day. Martin embodied the picture of a Godly man who loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his siblings with all of his heart, but most of all he loved Jesus. Martin is survived by his best friend and wife, Esther. Children are daughter-in-law Tammy (Gregg) Clauson Miller-Bauer of Bloomington, IL, Lee (Ruth) Miller of Cambridge, OH, and Laura Miles of Roxboro, NC. Grandchildren are Kristen (Kurtis) Sager, Kyle Miller, and Kody Miller all of Bloomington, IL, William (Britney) Miles and Dakota Miles all of Roxboro, NC. Remaining siblings are Allen (Grace) Miller of Mount Airy, GA, Esther Miller of Chardon, OH, Robert (Gloria) Miller of Huntsburg, OH, and brother-in-law Thomas B. Owens of Chardon, OH. Gone but not forgotten before Martin are his parents, Eli and Ida Miller, son Dale Miller, granddaughter Jaune Miles, sister Emma Owens, brother Bill Miller, and sister-in-law Davie-Ann Miller. Special thanks to Pastor Mark Hostetler of Eagleville Bible Church for his friendship and love to a fellow Bluegrass lover. Martin thought very highly of Pastor Mark. Also thank you to the nurses at UH downtown cardiac ICU floor as well as the nurses at Hospice of the Western Reserve. Services will be held at Best Funeral Home located at 15809 Madison Road, Middlefield, OH on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 12pm. Calling hours will be from 10am to 12pm.
