Gerald Eugene Shinn, known to many as "Gene," passed away on February 22, 2024, at the Cameron Regional Hospital in Cameron, Missouri. He was born on April 18, 1940, in Osceola, Iowa to Royal Clyde Shinn and Anna Gertrude (Patterson) Shinn. Gerald led a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of those around him. Gene proudly served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965. In his professional journey, Gene worked as an electrician for the Iowa Ammunitions Plant until his retirement in 1996. His dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on all who crossed paths with him during his esteemed career. Beyond his work life, Gene was a man of simple pleasures. He found immense joy in spending quality time with his cherished family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His modest and humble nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his free time, he indulged in his passion for working on cars, a hobby that brought him both relaxation and fulfillment. Gene will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of over 61 years, Minnie Shinn; and daughter, Lisa Shinn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who held a special place in his heart. He is preceded in death by his father Royal Shinn; mother, Anna Shinn; brothers, Junior Shinn, Lyle Shinn, and Jerry Shinn; and sister, Roberta Howe - all whom he shared deep connections with throughout his life. A memorial visitation to honor and celebrate Gene's life will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on February 29th at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Please join the family in reflecting on the impact he had on those around him and to pay tribute to a life well-lived. Though Gerald may have departed from this world physically, his memory and legacy will continue to live on through all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Glenn Derickson passed away on February 06th, 2024 at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Glenn was born on August 04, 1935, to Robert Henry Derickson and Minnie Josephine Lisby Derickson. He attended school and then went on to work with the railroad and on automatic feed systems for many years. He enjoyed storytelling, fishing, camping, grilling, and tinkering, but, most of all Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by, his wife Deborah Pruitt Derickson of Hamilton, and his two daughters Jennifer Ridenour or Bogard and Donna Perry of Kirksville. Two sons-in-law, Matthew Ridenour of Bogard and Kyle Dixon of Kirksville. His sister Lois Niehaus Burkey and husband Lyle Burkey of Chillicothe. His grandchildren Brittney Oster and her fiancé Ethan Hayes of Bogard, Cassandra "Cassie" Perry of Kirksville, and Tyson Perry of Kirksville. Glenn is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Bobby Campbell of Chillicothe and Billy Campbell of Kirksville. As well as his sisters-in-law, Betty Derickson of Chillicothe, Sarah Derickson of Marceline, Ronda Smith of St. Louis, Linda Gates of Mississippi, and Lisa Vandgriff of Mississippi. As well as several nieces and nephews. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Forrest Derickson, Dwanye Derickson, Donald Derickson, and William Derickson. As well as a brother-in-law Steve Williams and two sisters-in-law, Sue Derickson and Dolly Derickson. A Visitation Service will be held on Monday, February 12th, 2024 at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Wheeling Cemetery.Memorials in honor of Glenn Derickson may be made to Heritage Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Hubert Samuel Grinstead Jr 1944-2024 Cameron, Missouri- Hubert Samuel Grinstead, 79, passed away January 29, 2024. Sam was born on April 10,1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Hubert S. and Margaret (Wilds) Grinstead. He was a graduate of Vernon Indiana High School in 1962 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from Purdue University in 1966. Sam moved to Cameron in 1968 where he was a salesman for Master Mix Feeds and later became a district feed salesmen for Kent Feeds for north central Missouri. The feed industry provided a pathway to the swine genetics business where in 1979 he became the western regional sales and production manager for McClean County Hog Service. In 1985, Sam formed Grinstead Swine Service whichS supplied swine genetics to pork producers across the Midwest for nearly two decades. Sam always had a love for horses and this passion is still shared by his son and grandchildren. During his retirement years, Sam was well known in the area for providing carriage and wagon rides for holidays and special events using his team of horses. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Margaret; and sister Lois (Grinstead) Schnadinger. Sam is survived by his children Grant (Katie) Grinstead, Greta (Joe) Zaccardelli; grandchildren, Colton, Klair and Griffin Grinstead, Jayln, Anthony, Sophia and Enzo Zaccardelli; brother, Dale Grinstead; nieces, Elizabeth Grinstead, Summer Grinstead and nephew Brian Schnadinger. He loved being at the family farm tending to the cattle and putting up hay, working on cars, fishing, target shooting and hunting. Joe loved helping people and being with family and friends.
