| | | WISE, VA. MAY 9, 2023 Mary M. Thacker, 80 passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 after a long illness. She attended Zion Family Ministries and a former employee of WNVA Radio Station. She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Roy Thacker, Sr. ; her parents, Howard Sr. and Thelma Faye Mosley and her only brother, Howard Mosely, Jr. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Spurlock Mays and husband Kevin; son, Roy Thacker, Jr. ; special daughters-in-law, Julie McCoy and Betty Baugus; grandchildren, Chris Spurlock and wife Emily, Roy Thacker, III, Riley Ann Thacker, Andrew Mays, Haley Mays and Shealyn Mays; great-grandchild, Wesley Spurlock; two sisters, Shirley Blair and husband Jess and Susie West; her cat Goldie; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mary Thacker will be conducted at 3:00 P. M. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Wayne Hager officiating. Burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery, Norton, VA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P. M. till time of services at 3:00 P. M. on Thursday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
