Reverend Mr. Donald Roy Livingstone--husband, father, grandfather, attorney, deacon in the Catholic Church--died peacefully at the age of 92, surrounded by his family on November 24, 2023 at his home in Stuart, Florida. Don was born in Tarrytown, NY in 1931, but moved to Miami right after, making him a lifelong native Miamian. He graduated in 1949 from Gesu Catholic High School where he was student body president. He attended the University of Florida and graduated in 1953 with three Bachelor degrees, all related to history and political science. Don accepted an externship where he spent one year each with three governors from Southern states. While in KY, he met and in 1955 married the love of his life, Mary Margaret Lynch (Tootie). They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary the same year Tootie passed away in 2006. Don entered law school at the University of Florida in 1960, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Florida Law Review in 1962 and subsequently was admitted to the UF Law School Hall of Fame. Don spent most of his career as a sole practitioner of civil and real estate law. For years, he was particularly known as the attorney who handled the most adoptions in the State of Florida. Accepting God's call to serve, Don was ordained a deacon in 1992 for the Archdiocese of Miami. He served as the first deacon at the Church of the Epiphany in South Miami until 2019 when he retired. His true passion was reading a good novel. He also loved building things with his hands, yard work, and a cold domestic beer while sitting in an old patio chair on the driveway listening to an AM radio and watching his grandchildren play. A Requiem Mass will be held at the Church of the Epiphany in South Miami on December 7, 2023 at 10 AM with burial to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Doral.
