"Glenda Hester Brown Amory - Glenda Hester Brown, 83, left this world for her home in Heaven on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was surrounded by all of her family whom she loved so well. We know she had a glorious reunion with her husband, her son, and a grandson, along with many more loved ones. But she desired more than anything to meet her Savior face to face. Glenda was born on September 29, 1940 in Nettleton, MS to the late Clovis Ike Hester and Olean Bean Hester. She graduated from Nettleton High School in 1959. Glenda married Jack A. Brown in 1961 and they were blessed with three sons. She was a seamstress for Glenn Manufacturing and Wilson's, but her greatest accomplishments were raising her sons and caring for her grandchildren, the kids from church, and the neighborhood children. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was happiest when spending time with her family. Glenda loved the Lord and was a long time member of Cason Baptist Church. She worked many years in the Children's Church bus ministry. She would visit throughout the community and bring children to church. She often clothed, fed and bought necessities for those in need. It is no secret that Glenda treasured her family and friends. She and Jack enjoyed camping and fishing - always with a few grandchildren in tow. Glenda also enjoyed quilting and made each grandchild their own special quilt with love from "Mamaw". She was an excellent cook and no matter how many people showed up for supper, there was always plenty to share. Glenda was an extraordinary woman. Strong, independent, and maybe a little bit stubborn. When cancer gave her 3 months, she took 4 years. Her family will always be grateful for the gift of extra time with her. And although she will be sorely missed we are rejoicing that she has received her ultimate healing. She is survived by her sons, Mark Brown, Cason Community, and Bart Brown (Kristy), Cason Community; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Brown, Cason Community; grandchildren, Eric Sanders (Karyn), Brittany Logan (Nathan), Terilyn Inmon, Niki Edge (Cameron), Jack Brown, Emma Brown, and Garret Brown; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Dudley Hester, Amory, and Danny Hester (Cassey), Nettleton, MS; a special nephew, Jeremy Hester; her best friends, Ann Hester and Ann Hood; and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Brown; her son, Darrin Brown; grandson, Nick Brown; granddaughter, Brandy Isbel; brother, Kenneth Hester; and great-niece, Kyrstin Hester. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 am at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS with Bro. Jim Manley officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery with Pallbearers being Eric Sanders, Blake Hester, Bryson Lewis, Noah Hester, Jack Brown, Garret Brown, and Jackson Brown.
