Mary Spina Obituary

Mary Therese Spina, 61, of Chicago, passed away April 21st, 2023. Cherished wife of 25 years of Philip Vincent Spina, Jr. Devoted mother of Jeremy Michael Spina; step-mother of Philip (Jennie), Eric (Carly) and Marc (Emily) Spina; adoring grandmother ("Mimi") of Clara, Violet, T. J. , and Chloe Spina. Dear sister of Michael, Jerry (Joy), Allen (Brenda), and John (Donna) Nemeth and Nancy (Jose) Ortiz. Daughter of the late Michael Frank Nemeth and Diane Marie Nemeth (nee Wagner). Faithful companion of her dogs, Elsa and the late Bailey. After graduating from St. Matthias Elementary and Good Counsel High School, Mary earned her B. S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Loyola University. She enjoyed a career in Research Administration at Northwestern University, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and IIT. Her most recent and most important career was being a mom and wife. Mary loved all things Disney and took numerous Disney cruises and vacations with her family. Visitation Monday, April 24, 4-8pm, at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625. Funeral mass Tuesday April 25, 10am at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 2310 W.
