Mary Lou Rubine, 83 of Altoona died unexpectedly Tuesday morning April 23, 2019 at her residence. She was born March 19, 1936 in Altoona a daughter of the late James and Amanda Amelia (Settle) Kiser. She married Ralph R. Rubine on June 19, 1961 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona. Surviving are a brother Donald "Bunny" Kiser of Allport, PA; a sister-in-law Jane Kiser of Altoona; a niece Billie M. Witherow of Altoona; a great niece Christen Jones and her husband Ben and their children, Reese and Alec; a great niece Julia Witherow; a niece Joy Morrison and her husband Jimmy; and numerous extended family. Mary Lou was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Weaver and Geraldine Conrad and a brother James Kiser. Mrs. Rubine was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona. She was a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from the tracing department of Butterick in 1974 after nineteen years service. Mary Lou enjoyed animals, casino trips and she especially enjoyed spending time with her great great niece Reese and great great nephew Alec. She was a life member of the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday April 30, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jennifer Soltis officiating. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
