Mary Louise (Sweet) Parrish of Canton, MA passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023. Marylou was born in Norwood MA to her late parents Francis and Anna (Flaherty) Sweet. She was raised in Stoughton and attended St. John's High School in Canton, MA. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Stanley Parrish. She is also survived by her three children Mark (Anne) Parrish of Needham, Rev. Bryan Parrish of Needham, and JoAnn (James) Dawson of Auburn. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Jill (Rev. Thom) Mahoney. She is survived by her six grandchildren Frannie (Colby) Parrish-Wadel, John Parrish, Michael Parrish, Kevin Parrish, Rebecca Dawson and Sarah Dawson. She is survived by her sister Barbara (Robert) Moses and two brothers Frank (Shirley) Sweet and Roger (Mary Lou) Sweet, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Norma (Paul) Parrish. She was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Sweet, Eleanor (Joseph) Sarrey, Shirley (James) DiCorpo, brother Charles (Carol) Sweet, brother in law Paul Parrish and Robert (Ardeth) Parrish. Prior to her marriage, Marylou worked at the Liberty Mutual Company in Boston MA and as a medical secretary in Brockton. After raising her children, she worked as an administrative assistant at Aquinas College in Milton. As did her mother, Marylou had a deep devotion to Saint Therese of Lisieux and treasured her Catholic faith. She was a faithful parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Canton, MA. Marylou made many friends throughout her life and she cherished those memories in her later years. She and her husband Stanley also deeply loved the Boston Bruin games, vacations, sporting events, recitals, and parties they shared with their loving family. Marylou was a devoted and dedicated "Grammy" to her grandchildren. Her resilient faith and love will forever remain in her family's lives. Visiting Hours are Friday, May 12, 4-8 pm at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave. , Needham MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, May 13 at St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave. , Needham MA, immediately followed by the Rite of Committal at St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph St. , Canton, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Jill (Parrish) Mahoney to the Friends of Dana-Farber, 450 Brookline St. , SW120, Boston, MA 02215.
