Mary E. Kimmel McCafferty, age 96 of Shaler Township on September 11, 2023. Wife of the late Larry E. McCafferty. Mother of Dan McCafferty (Carolyn), Mike McCafferty, Barb Dean (Jim), and Bob McCafferty (Mary Beth). Grandmother of Sara, Dana, Richard, Patrick and Liam. Great grandmother of Hannah, Mya, Brynna, Ella, Richard Jr. , Logan, and Jacob. Great great grandmother of Eli, Theo, Roman and Gabriel. Daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Probst Kimmel. Sister of the late Ves Kimmel (Evelyn). Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary always went to the 7 AM Mass and faithfully said the Rosary. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd. , Glenshaw. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 AM at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church. Everyone Please Meet At Church. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to The Haven at North Hills or Passavant Hospital Foundation.

William J. Slagel Jr. (Bill) known by many as "Mr. Wonderful" passed away peacefully Dec. 4th at the age of 87. He was born on Feb 4, 1936 to the late William J. and Katherine Slagel. Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Jane, his daughter Lisa (James) Bucklar, grandchildren Emily Slagel, Mary Katherine Slagel (Sean), James Bucklar, Samantha Bucklar, great grandchild Georgia Scobee, and sister Kathleen Chisholm. Preceded in death by his much loved son William A. (Edye) and brother Clifford (Gloria). Founder of William J. Slagel Agency, he graduated from North Catholic, attended Duquesne University, and proudly served his country in the Marine Corps. Semper Fi. He lived a full life creating a legacy beyond his dreams. His family was everything to him. Bill was a true and loyal friend to many, living on the principles of respect, honesty, and integrity. Anonymously helping so many. A special thanks to the staff at Pinnacle Hospice and St. Barnabas who cared for him with such love and compassion. As per his wish there will be No Visitation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday December 9th at 12 NOON at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Rd. , Glenshaw. James Regis Monroe Jr. devoted husband of 63 years to Kathleen Monroe (deceased Feb 6, 2023), passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was 92 years old just shy of his 93rd birthday. James was born on December 5, 1930. He was an active member of St. Ursula Catholic Church for 55 years. James was employed as an engineer for over 50 years with Wean United and United Engineering. Also, he was active in a variety of activities including bowling, golf, and gardening. James was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his plentiful harvest of various vegetables, but his true love was his gift of growing giant pumpkins. In many seasons, James was able to share his pumpkins with his grandchildren and always had the largest on display at Halloween. He graduated from Central Catholic in 1947, and then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in engineering in 1962. James never missed Pitt football and basketball games and loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Throughout his life, James always volunteered his time and energy in helping others. He served as a softball coach for many years in the Hampton Township softball league. Another talent James excelled in was wood working. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jeannette Monroe, his sister Lois (Harry) Black and his brothers Thomas (Mary Pat) Monroe, Edward Monroe, Jack (Carol) Monroe, and Robert (Heidi) Monroe. James is survived by his 3 sisters Jean (Urban) Boeh, Eileen (Vincent) Flanagan, and Madeline (John) Kennedy. He is also survived by his 9 children: James (Sue) R. Monroe III, Judy Monroe, Richard Monroe, Joseph (Jeanne) Monroe, Wendy (Bernie) Graham, Maureen (A. J. ) Deverts, Colleen (Bernard) Klein, Patrick (Staci) Monroe, and Kate Brandt. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren including: James Monroe IV, Angie (Evan) Patterson, Lexy Monroe, Erin (Joe) Madry, Matt Graham, Meghan (Mike) Furnier, Dillon Graham, Jenna Graham, Rich Casselberry, Katie (Steve) Singer, Ryan (Becky) Casselberry, Ryan (Thania) Klein, Madeline (Joey) Kaiser, Maria (Eli) Rowney, Grace (John Henry) Gleason, Anna (John) Malinoski, Vincent Klein, Timothy Klein, Benedict Klein, Matt Monroe, Victoria Monroe, Chloe Erdner, Kiera Monroe, Dani Brandt, and Riley Brandt. James also has 20 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 26 from 2pm - 7pm at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mount Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116. Lynn Max Landis, a man who lived life with an unwavering passion, has departed from this world. He passed away on October 14th, 2023. Throughout his life, Lynn's kindness and compassion brought joy to those around him and left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Lynn's strong willpower propelled him through the various facets of his life, whether it was in his successful career or within the loving embrace of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of determination and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Landis, his son, Doug DeHaven, sister Joan Brown, and his mother, Ethel Landis, as well as a large extended family. As a father, Lynn's love extended not only to his biological family but also to the worldwide extended family of exchange students whom he cherished dearly. His wife Marilyn had his unwavering support and friendship for over 31 years. Lynn's career was marked by excellence and dedication. He became the managing partner of the accounting firm he joined after college, serving as a Certified Public Accountant for over 22 years. Later, he joined forces with his wife in her business venture, Basic Business Concepts Inc. , where he served as the Chief Operating Officer. Beyond his professional achievements, Lynn was an active lay leader within his place of worship and a devoted member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He generously devoted his time and energy to various community organizations. He served on the board of North Side Common Ministries, ELCA Synod Committees, North Hills Community Outreach, Goodwill of Southwestern PA, and the FARM Assistance Match. In addition to these roles, Lynn lent his vast knowledge, sound advice, and kindness to countless other local boards, generously sharing his expertise with the community. His legacy will forever be remembered by those who admired him as a role model and an inspiration. No visitation, a Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Friday October 20th at 11 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1719 Mt. Royal Blvd. , Glenshaw.
