Mary Joann Webster Lester, 74, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, 2023. Mrs. Lester was born in Kalamazoo, MI to the late Bankston Lee Webster and Dorothy Louise Greene Webster. She was a graduate of Piedmont Technical College and retired from Cryovac. Mary's main hobby was sewing. Surviving are a son, Carl Davis (Carrie); a daughter, Tammy Mears (Alvin); two brothers, John Webster (Linnie) and Mike Webster (Wanda); a sister, Becky Webster; five grandchildren, Josh Davis, Kimberly Wilford, Cameron Reed (Kelly), Micheala Davis, and Donovan Perry; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Vincent, Chloe Wilford and Kori Jo Reid. She was predeceased by a son, Billy Davis; and a sister, Peggy Jones. The family will receive friends 4-6pm Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Muriel Ruth Davis Hatfield, 89, widow of Rev. William Henry Hatfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Mrs. Hatfield was born in Milltown, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Beatrice Evelyn Davis. She grew up in Maine and lived in South Carolina during her early marriage to Pastor Bill as he attended Bob Jones University. Upon graduation, they returned to Maine where they served as church planters for 40 years. When they retired, they lived out their twilight years together in Fountain Inn with family and friends. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Muriel loved being a pastor's wife and administering the Junior Church. She enjoyed sewing and canning. She found great joy in being Grammie to her grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Mark Hatfield with wife Rita; three daughters, Judi Merrifield, Jan Polastry with husband Ken, and Melanie Clement with husband Bob; seven grandchildren, Jamie Blakeney with husband Ken, Michael Hall, Andrew Clement, Olivia Morse with husband Jeremy, Alex Clement with wife Megan, Jenna Jones with husband Marshall, and Mary-Elise Clement; and five great-grandchildren, Andrea Wood, Adam Hall, Zoey Blakeney, Madeline Morse, and Titus Morse. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Carolyn Hall-Stone. The family will receive friends between 2 - 4 p. m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service. (July 23, 1934 - November 17, 2023 Ethel Mae Manley Maze, 89, of Mauldin, SC departed this earthly life on Friday, November 17, 2023 and reached her final destination, the Kingdom of God and is in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Ethel was born in Greenville, SC on July 23,1934 to the late Buster J. Manley and Nellie L. Hughes Manley. She grew up in the Dunean community, just one street over from Tremont Avenue Church of God which she attended throughout her life, making many life-long friends still loyal to this day. Tremont is also where she met R. V. (Rudolph) Maze, the love of her life and husband for 65 years until his passing on January 9, 2023. Ethel lived her life serving others. She said that was her calling", which she answered with a servant's heart and gave all that she had. She provided transportation to church and doctor's appointments, ran errands, cleaned houses, and cooked meals for those in need. She never complained, boasted, or even spoke of her deeds. It was just all in a day's work in her life's mission. She was a breast cancer survivor and a caregiver for her Mother and sister during their battles with the disease; she was a dependable, loyal, faithful friend, and prayer warrior. She was a great cook and an amazing baker, widely known for her cakes, marshmallow fudge brownies, and trays of assorted desserts around the holidays. She loved baking for others; whether it was a special day or just to brighten someone's day and let them know she was thinking about them. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, R. V. Maze and her older sister Mary Bennett, aka the trusty sidekick of She is survived by a son, Rudolph Vinson Maze (Connie); daughter, Tammy Maze-Derfler (Terrence); granddaughter, Samantha Shannon Davis (Cody); brothers, Richard Earl Manley and Ronnie Jerry Manley. Services will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at Mauldin Church of God, 411 East Butler Rd, Mauldin, SC 29662. Visitation from 10:30 am - 11:45 am. Service at 12:00 pm and burial following at Graceland Cemetery West, 4814 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
